I think i broke my skis

my friend got new skis and they seemed stiff so i start to flex my skis to see how soft they were and i heard a cracking sound. so are they ok to ride on i was planning on getting new ones before next year am i good for the rest of this year?

you should definitely just go out and buy new skis now, they'll probably break very soon.

Does the ski have a point where it flexes strangely? Does the camber look off?

I've have noticed that a ski will sometimes make a really faint cracking noise when you flex them, if they are brand new or haven't been used in awhile, its really faint tho, and definetely doesn't sound like cracking wood or anything.

All new skis do that, every new ski we get in at my shop we go through and flex them, after a couple flexes it stops. You're fine.

this has happened to me. It was an edge crack. which you can ride with and isnt to bad so look down your edge and see if its cracked any where.

We are too lazy here and let the customer get confused when they think they cracked their ski. haha
