These are just some clips off the top of my head that I think into this idea of anime not having to be solely about over the top imaginary monsters and robots that appeal only to a select few. Granted some anime out there is about giant robots and is still bad ass, but the sterotypical nerdy anime with characters with green hair and such is just too much for me to get into. I find myself able to get into anime with a higher production valve and a decent script even though there is a fair amount of stigma that clouds public thought on anime as being "one dimensional and for nerds". For instance, you look at what a samurai anime can be compared to its live action counterpart and you can realize that there is far less limitation with animation as compared to live action. In japan i know that alot of these movies have a larger budget than their live action counterparts.
By no means would i consider myself an anime fan, but i do enjoy watching a handful of japanese animation movies. I do not follow anime in any sense so im not a master on the subject.
Thoughts? suggestions?
