I need some FATTIES!!!

So at the beginning of this season i was thinking 95mm underfoot (ARV's) is a good pow ski. I was right but now I'm hooked on fat skis. The ARV is turning out to be a great all mtn ski and will eventually become my park ski. I ski them almost every time i go out. They are becoming less of a pow ski for me and more of a every day ski.

Here's the situation. I want something 105 or 110+ and no shorter than 185ish. It is going to be a dedicated pow ski. I want them to be medium-stiff flex. Preferably a core company and something coming out for the 06-07 season.

If you have experiance on anything like this and can write up a quick 2 or so sentance blurb on a ski you ride hit me up.

Thanks.

K.

Check out the Gotamas or ANTs, those are both pretty nice skis. The Gotamas will be more in the medium flex range, the ANTs are obviously the stiffer of the two. But don't limit yourself to just 105+, there's a lot of great powder skis you can get that are under 105 underfoot(Atomic Pimp, Dynastar Legend Pro, etc).

I am on ARV's and don't plan on selling them. I'm keeping them for all mtn. I want something fatter for deep pow days.

theres not really that many skis with that bigger waist. i would just go for a 100+ waist. look at

-ANT

-Gotama

-Jp vs Julien

-possible seth(although a bit on the skinny side)

-Prophet 100

-head 105

yo man rock some fuckin volkl sumos sooo badass for strictly pow...if they are too fat for ya then get some gotomas (i kno its not core, but who the hell cares volkl is bombproof)

how about my JP vs Juliens. 250 to all you other folk, but you get a cali discrout. Used like 7 times max, comes with no bindings. 191 and 103mm at the waist.

ant's are 191cm long and 106mm underfoot. jp vs. julien is 188cm long and 103mm underfoot.

jps are relatively soft, ANTs are stiff.

they both have fairly little sidecut and don't exactly turn on a dime.

i'm thinking something more along the lines of the ant. I'm already on a soft fat ski for my every day ride. I want something stiffer and fatter for breaking my neck.

some dude is selling last years pollards...eventho they are last years ive skied them sooooooo fun easily one of my favorite skis, but then again any ski made by pollard is so fun, havnt skied new liz or bacon yet but we'll see when i get a chance

if you want stiffer skis along the lines of the ANT, there are a few considerations-

190 gotama

190 EHP

190 VCT

err... i'm having a brain fart.

the ultimate thing to do is get a custom ski. pick a shape and they'll make it exactly the flex you want it. only problem is $$$$$.

www.capitalskis.com

www.igneousskis.com

www.kingswoodskis.com

i'm thinking i need to get a capital BMT with a medium-stiff flex underfoot and back and a medium flex in the tips.

the kingswood fat is pretty sick though too...

yeah the capitol looks like the closest to what i want. Maybe something a little more affordable and easier to get would be the gotama or VCT. I'd really like to suppotr a core company if possible.

Any one ever ridden the ants? What do they ride like? Maidens might also be in the picture. K2 is as close as a company can get to core with out actually being core.

id say:

jp vs juliens 188

maden ak 189

prophet 130s 186 (they handle better than you think, and are sick)

4frnt VCT of next years eric hjorliefson promodel, just don't get the biggest size of that one cause it's not twinned, but the smaller sizes of it are, just for reference you probably wouldn't want the big size anyway, it's like 196 or something. but this year's VCTs are sick too.

jp vs. juliens and maden aks are out. he said he didn't want that soft of a ski.

prophet 130s are a possibility. i don't know his opinion on them.

the EHP's largest size is a 193. i believe it's 112 underfoot and stiff as a pair of 2x4's. a MASSIVE ski.

which is lame. Sidecuts not all bad, its good to have a little. We went from straights to shaped skis for a reason

if your straightlining out of a chute, going mach 10 and riping a hard turn you don't want alot of sidecut.

It all depends on what you gonna ski.

SO kyle i didnt read your thread because 1. you have nothing to offer to the world via your mouth other than the unmentionables i wont i dont care to mention, and 2 you wear glasses wich means your smarter then me, Dude you big enough to rock prophet 130's plus your rich because your in the CC.

Dude my man, DB skis has the perfect ski for you. google DBskis and its the second one. Dabla Rasa is the one you want. 120 underfoot and a swallowtail. its perfect. comes in a 186 and some stiff flex paterns. these guys know their shit.

too bad they dont exist anymore..if you want a ski like that the Capital Thrasher has similar dimensions with a swallow, if not DB is not DP and the Lotus 120/138 are sick.

i can throw shorter swing turns on my ANTs than with my larose pros, but that's just because i'm dope, JEAH!!!!

i'm down to try. we can tell them to ship them to the same place since i'm in california we can just work something out. two for the price of one!

haha, yeah right.
