First off, I have never ever skied in my life. I'm a snowboarder. I know very little about skiing. I had a run in with some middle school losers on skis last week. They were being rude and all, but not cause they ski, cause they're middle schoolers. Anyway, that's as close as I've gotten to skiing. I don't know anyone who skis.

I'm on here because I want to do an article for my small time snowboarding mag about the skiing culture. Like what's cool in skiing, what tricks are hot now, what some good vids are, etc. And I wanna get an interview in with some skiiers. Like what they (you) think of us (me) and what skiiers think about what snowboarders think about skiiers. So if there is anyone on here who is sponsored or just really into skiing and wouldn't mind answering some questions let me know. Also post here what's hot in snowboarding now, some top brands in skiing and your views on snowboarding. Thanks a lot!
 
It's not an "official" mag or whatever. Me and my bro are trying to put out this little mag about snowboarding. It would also include some surfing and skating. Maybe a little info about skiing, bmx, and quads every once and a while but I've never done none of those things. I'm not here to hate on skiers. The article is supposed to give snowboarders more info on it. I know all about snowboarding, the history, different pros and companies and stuff. But I know nothing about skiing. i dunno why but alot of skiers dislike snowboarders

skiers like to talk about progression alot and going no poles is really hot right now cuase of a new video called film the idea with pep fujas andy mahre and eric pollard in it also pep and andy went to the open without poles so that helped get the whole no poles thing really going

 
Yeah, K2, Rossi and Head make snowboards too. I never ridden any of them but I'm looking at a K2 for my next board.

Ok, so why the no poles? Is it just like a noncomformity thing?

I think the article is gonna focus on ski gear, the hot pros, where it's going, what it came from and stuff. Then there will be sidebars (journalism 1 vocab word) with quotes from skiers on here or other sites. So right now, gimme some quotes about what u think about snowboarding as a sport, and snowboarders. And include ur first name if you want me to use it.
 
uhhh its sorta a non conformity thing but poles have absolutly no use in the park other then for balance. i somtimes ride not poles just cuase its fun
 
Okay cool. I've watched skiing on TV before. I liked the freestyle stuff but racing to me is kinda old. Same with snowboarding. It takes lots of skill and is cool, but not my style. My dad actually knows Chris Klug's (look him up on wikipedia) brother. I think with skiing you can do a lot differnt freestyle stuff. I don't get why ski bindings release so easy tho. Seems like every time a guy pulls a big ass trick, his bindings release.
 
Yeah racing is lame, nobody here gives a shit about bode miller. You can set the release on your din settings, to low=pop out and kill yourself, to high=Stay in and break your legs.
 
They have to release because with the ability for our knees to twist independently, if they twist too hard you will destroy your knee.
 
OHHHHH not even a second glance! harsh! anyways yeah umm a newish trend is skiing with no poles. its pretty ill. it kinda makes me feel naked but people such as pep fujas, andy marre(?) and tom w... are all really good at it
 
Ok cool. What's a good magazine I can buy to get a feel for the sport. I live in SC so we barely have many snowboarding or skiing ones, so try to recommend the bigger magazines.
 
mine bindings dont release, but maybe thats because my dins are set way to high, i think the guys who are releasing all the time have there dins set to low.
 
hey well atleast he is trying, so y dont u give it to him, and youll get some info in return. there isnt much to lose, extept your dignaty, but who cares about dignaty anywhy, personally i dont really know what it means
 
That's how lots of forums are. But honestly, I've never been hated just for being a snowboarder. I mean, even on the Burton forums people don't hate on skiers. Instead they hate on everyone. It's so hard to get a straight answer to a question.
 
i take it that you have sucked it already and that is why you know it smells like cheese, and after you sucked it you put the info he gave on wiki
