I need input on where to move out west....

what's up alberta. i might be moving out west this season. Where, i'm not sure yet, most likely calgary. But I don't know.

does anyone have any suggestions on where to move? or are any of you guys moving out and need a room mate or something?

i really have to get out of manitoba...
 
Move to airdrie, or cochrane.

Whereabouts in Manitoba are you from? I have family in deloraine, boissevain and pipestone
 
calgary is a good choice, cop is always fun and right in the city, and there are great places to ski within an hour and a bit drive from calgary
 
cochrane. It'll take you less time to drive to COP than most places in calgary and less time to the mountains. Not to mention big city life sucks

if you skateboard cochrane has the best skatepark around these parts. i would still say calgary though. west side of calgary is the best.
 
Actually i would say cochrance because if you skateboard they have a massive park that that guy above said, and if you mountain bike you can still drive to cop in less then 20 minutes.
 
Pff that's a filthy lie, everyone on earth hates big city life. That's why there's so many big city's
 
you should come live in bentley with me. There are 10 stores in the whole town, 4 of them are liquor stores. 1000 people in the whole town, 3 of them ski. And the closest "resort" has 80 feet of vertical and is open 6 days a year. It's awsome.

If you are looking to work and ski and have a vehicle calgary is a great place. Search craiglist.com or homerent.ca for the best prices on rental properties in the SW and inner NW. Killarney, Glamorgan, Bankview, Altadore, Kensington, Hillhurst, Sunnyside. These are all communities close to the downtown-core located near good jobs, good resturants and good bars. Now if you want to ski and work (more emphasise on the skiing) move to fernie or banff to still have a life outside of skiing or if you just want good terrain and dont give a shit about women, good nights or anything else off of the hill go to Golden. Fernie is an easy place to find a job and a place to live and get to the ski hill, however if the snow sucks, other resorts arent very close. Banff is harder to find accomodation. Canmore isnt so bad, but there is a handful of resorts within and hour and a half that all offer great riding.

So to sum it up. If you want some big city and skiing move to calgary. If you just want to bum in, work at a ski hill or in a ski town go to canmore, banff, or fernie. If you just want to ski big mountain move to golden.

the hills is empty most of the time though

and all the kids are park rats so everything else is pretty open

they get tons of snow aswell
 
kimberley does not get tonnes of snow dude. Cochrane is alright but I don't think you keep it real enough to live here, but who knows, this town is filling up with people who don't keep it real nowadays. I'd move to Banff if I was you.
 
calgary or canmore. if you come to calgary you've gotta live in the west like tuscany or something so you' re close to the mountains and cop.
 
if you were from anywhere east of manitoba i would have told you to stay the fuck at home. otherwise anywhere but calgary there are too many people here as it is. anybody from ontario east. just stay the hell away from alberta you can be a burden on BC if you want to move out west!!
 
yee, kinda sorta what friedcheese said, cochranes an alright place, its not far from calgary if u need to go in, and its closer to the mountains. banff is cool i guess, i would think it'd be kinda pricey, and then same wit cannmore, itd be pricey too
 
move to banff if you dont have a car, hitching is super easy and if you have a ride then move to canmore, the groceries are cheaper. fuck calgary, its to far from the actual mountains
