me and this other guy via e-mail think we have come up with a way to make a skiing game sell(make it a snowboarding game, with the option of being a skier) we are hoping to base it on 'amped 3' if microsoft ever makes such a thing. thats just the basic idea, it's way more complex but i wont bore you. this is the biggest body of skiers on the planet so you're the people to ask. we need a top five list(at least, if you want to make your lists longer then feel free) for the following,

-riders

-skis(must be twin tipped)

-clothing(can include anything you wear, dont limit yourself on this one, also dont be name brand specific, just style specific. e.i.-big puffy white pants, not-white oakley 2x4 pants)

-eyewear

-the grabs

-the tricks

please do not give me any criticism, all im lookin for are these lists, ill take the most popular out of these lists of each category for the final ones. you also dont have to fill out each and every list, just do what you please. and also... keep it serious guys.

CR, Seth, Tanner, Pep, Candide, Steele, Turpin, and Sarah are the skiers I would like to see.

Skis? Whatever they ride. But just throwing some names out there, Seth Pistols, PEs, TMs, MTs, Scratches, Lines, whatever...get the big names as well as the newer names in there like 4FRNT and Armada.

I don't care what clothes they are wearing.

Just a thought the first post gave me the idea of having a game for both skiers and snowboarders where you can be either and must complete it.

 
have it a park and big mountain game, have seth, pollard, tanner, pep, douglas, ordway, collins brothers, sage c, etc.. have the skis and sponsors they have. have locations that start out as a big mountain theat level out into a park and pipe the urban rails

what i would love to see, is to be able to rip a huge big mountain line with cliffs you can huck on the way down and have avalanches and sluffs coming after you, but that would be so hard to do, but that would be my dream game

Making the skier kind of an extra character in Amped 3 (if it happens) could be like the Snowskate in Amped 2. Just kind of a little thing to mess around with. You wouldnt even need pro riders in it. That way it would still mostly appeal to the snowboarding masses but would have something neat that would draw a few more people in. Then on xbox live we can just use the skis anyway.

i sent an email to activision giving them the idea of coming out with like a tanner hall pro skier. since johnny mosely sucked we could use a good game.

ECM productions presents... 'Last Man Standing' coming end of Jan.
 
itsbackfliptime, thats exactly what im saying. but it could be a major part of the game too, not just an extra thing. all you need to do is throw in a few skiers, and skis, and on second thought the skiers and snowboarders can rock the same clothes. you could choose to ride and complete goals as a skier, or as a snowboarder. its up to the player. i dont think that would be all that hard, it would appeal to the snowboarding crowd still and expand the target market to skiers as well.

Using Johnny mosely would really help out in the long run with the crowd so yeah you guys should do that. All us true newschoolers won't use the fag but it should appeal to the general public.

Dont forget Oakley A-Frames as goggles..

One thing I thought about though, was all the ways skiers can spin and flip compared to snowboarders..which makes Amped much simpler than a skiing game.

thats why the tricks need to be narrowed down to fit into the control style of amped. im thinkin just have corks, fronts, backs, rodeos, on axis spins, and misties and bios if possible. d-spins are too complicated, and lincoln loops require adding a third axis to the controls which would not be easy.

the controls should be like tony hawk. i liked jonny moseleys mad trix, but it definately needed a lot of work. the tricks you could do were too limited. dna spin has a good idea with the charging up of tricks. anyways-

include all major ski companies and their twin tips

riders- tanner, cr, steele, candide, jp, the phils, mike douglas, chris turpin, create your own. if you had big mountain levels, that would kick ass. use big mountain riders like seth.

it would be cool if the skiers themselves (like tanner and cr) picked the clothes they wanted their guys to wear.

making a game including both skiing and snowboarding would be rather difficult. the physics are entirely different between the two i.e. skiers face down the hill and snowboarders have to turn sideways to look down the hill (not the best explanation but you know what i mean) and also, snowboarders can spin in all the same ways skiers can, they can do flatspins, or lincoln loops, or bios, they just have different names that i dont know cause i dont snowboard

I think this is a cool idea....espessialy if it was incorporated into a snowboard game like amped....it wud make so much money (good reason for microsoft to do it) and it would help bring snowboarding and skiing together (they already are..but it pisses me off still to see skiers rippin on boarders, and vice versa)....i think some companies would like the idea, but u gotta go to them prepared, with everything laid out so its easily understood, and possibly even some stuff about the riders, tricks, and clothes, like cutouts from magazines, u could create create controls for the tricks, shit like that...that would be the best way to present it, because they would lke to see ppl that have their sht togetha....good luck with this whole thing...

the amped controls allows you to have 12 different grabs doesnt it? all the standard grabs, plus the L trigger which tweaks it into a different grab i think. we could choose six grabs, then hitting the L trigger with these grabs makes the grab go opposite hand, or change the grab around a little bit. i think they go like this

-mute(crossed)

-blunt(crossed)

-safety

-japan

-nose(crossed, like jon olsson style)

-maybe have a 'grab' that isn't a grab, but more of a crouch, like a nice stylish position, like tanner's cork threes on session 1242.

-mute + Ltrigger = uncrossed mute

-tail + Ltrigger = uncrossed blunt

-safety + Ltrigger = phil's grab

-japan + Ltrigger = critical

-nose + Ltrigger = uncrossed nose, or stiffy

-stylish crouch + Ltrigger = tweaked out safety
