I need help to progress! +k for advice

I'm going skiing all this weekend and next weekend and as were getting to the end of the season I really want to feel like I progressed this season.

Basically, what I can do it slide basic boxes and most rails/down rails. I can't do 270's on or off and I can land switch off boxes sometimes. The only thing that I'm afraid to do is kinks of any kind and I can't slide boxes with my non-dominant foot downhill (I just slide out). Any advice for how to do spins on and off and slide opposite?

Regarding jumps, I can do 1s and 3s but I can't get any grabs. Should I work on the grabs while straight airing and then incorporate them into my spins? also what kinds, I have no clue which ones I should learn first. What type of trick should I work on next? I also have a bad habit of my left foot picking up higher than my right when I pop and it throws off my rotation, idk if this happens with anyone else but I can't seem to correct it. Should I also learn to spin right instead of just left?

Ill give +k for any help guys, I know im asking a lot but I don't ski with other skiers on the mountain so basically i'm teaching myself off of what I learn on here.

in general: always tell yourself JUST DO IT! don't be afraid to get hurt, the worst that will happen at you level is you might get some bruises and scratches, but all you need to do is JUST HAVE FUN.

JIBS: keep you shoulders balanced

-slide PERPENDICULAR to the rail,

-bend you knees a little bit

-look at the end of the rail, but don't bring your shoulders to much forwards because your legs may follow

JUMPS: Pop as late as possible.

- keep your shoulders balanced

-working on grabs such as safety grabs, mute grabs, tail grabs, japan grabs will help you so much in the future when you start grabbing while spinning

-working on switch skiing is such a good habit for the future. Just remember when spinning, throw downwards / forwards and not upwards and backwards

-don't be afraid of spinning on big jumps. The more active the jump, the less scary the trick is because you're constantly concentrating on the trick.

Ill add onto this...

JIBS: land under foot -kinks: if going from down to flat, push your forward foot outward and angled so you can hit the change without falling on your face.

-if going on a down rail, tilt your front foot at an angle so that your momentum going sideways is stop when your foot hits the rail and you dont just jump over the rail

-NEVER LOOK AT YOUR FEET!

-As for going non dominant, i.e. unnatural, be aggressive. again dont look at your feet. Practice jumping 90 degrees and keeping balanced while stationary on snow.

-jump with both feet onto the rail and jump off the rail at the end as it looks much better

-try a 270 onto flat boxes first and stay balanced all the way through

-for spins off, dont look at your feet and angle your front foot to push off the rail and initiate the spin. for some reason, when you start to turn your shoulders in the direction of the spin, your feet angle the right way. Practice this off a flat rail or tube

-when hitting features switch, point your back ski at the feature to remain in the right spot.

-if you flair your arms, try grabbing both sides of your coat. This helps you to use your feet instead of using all of your upper body to spin

JUMPS: start off by trying to cross your skis by putting your feet on top of each other

-bend your knees and bring your skis up to you, dont reach for them

-my rule for any jump is to straight air it first to get the speed down, then spin it every time afterwards or you wont do it again

-also if you do skip a jump in a set, odds are you will keep skipping it.

-keeping your self balanced and jumping off both feet will make your spins much better.

-as for jumping with one foot, if you stand on the floor and jump and do a spin, do you jump with one foot? no, just practice at your house or where you are staying to stay balanced.

-make sure you do pop at the very end of the jump and open up your legs a little wider before you pop

-practice going down easy trails switch with your legs staggered and switch between loo

king over both shoulders. As for going over jumps start with switch 1's and work your way up. DONT PRE-SPIN

-if you want to spin right and left, just do everything you do for going left but just mirror it. It seems weird, but you get used to it with repetition.

-dont flair your arms stay tucked up so you dont look like a gaper

My coach says theres two main things you need to do to do well: "Go fast and dont be a pussy"

Thats all i can think of at the top of my head

Kinda browsed the first 3 responses, but the biggest tip to help for any trick is commit. It's cliche but honestly if you fully commit to a trick you will probably land it your first couple tries

with no confidence, you will stop maybe half way, look stupid, and risk the chance of injuring yourself very badly, so if you are thinking of doing a trick just say "fuck it" and send it

For unnatural slides, make sure your keeping your weight centered, as you may put more weight on one foot than the other, because you are used to it.

Secondly, I've noticed the people who shred park with the best style often shred all mountain with the same style, what I'm saying is, take a little time to ride some grooms or moguls, just to get your edge awareness and control. You wouldn't believe how much it helps you progress.

If you get your 3s straightened out, try throwing some bigger ones on kickers and the like so you get used to going big on rotations. Plus huge floaty 3s feel so sick.

I just got my 3's down with a safety grab today, but it isn't 100% yet. The only problem with grabbing while spinning is that you feel the need to reach with your arm, but really you should try to bring your skis to your hands if that makes any sense. If you start lunging for the grab you will come off axis.
