So long story short... My camera is gone. I had a t2i, i have a bunch of other gear for it, canon leneses etc... I just lost body, card, bat, and 50m 1.4.

I need a new camera, and I need one fast, I have a wedding on the 27th. I have no money... I'm gonna have to borrow some from my parents or something.

Here were I need your guys opinion...

I have 3 cams I'm thinking of getting to replace it.

5d mrk ii

T2i again

Gh2

heres a super short list of pros+ cons...

I love the 5d I've shot on one a ton and love it.

Pros: Full frame, lowlight, dont need to switch lenses brands

Cons: No 60p, need get Cf cards

T2i, It was great, I didn't plan on upgrading anytime soon.

Pros: 24, 60p, dont needa switch lense brands

Cons: Just not as good of quality as 5d or GH2

And the Gh2

I dont know a lot about this camera... I've heard great things. I'm definately not switching over lense brands though, I've invested enough into EF glass... I heard theres an adapter for Ef to M4/3??

Couple of Q's:

Do I lose the shallow Dof i'd get from a t2i?

Is it that much shittier in lowlight?

Anyone have experience with the Ef to M4/3 adpater?

What you guys thinks? Gh2? Or stick with Canon??

Im going to run around the world trying to find it. If I find it the 50mm is mine, all else is yours to keep

Look dude for now you should probably just stick to a T2i, it's what you know and all you'll need to get the setup together again is the body and whatever else you got jacked.

The GH2 is definitely better, but it is somewhat complicated to learn and in the long run you'd be better off using what you know, then when you have time, switch systems and snag a GH2.

Just wondering, are you shooting video or photo for the wedding. (I assumed video)

Video man.

The I reallly wish the metabones adapter didn't cost 500 bucks cause otherwise I'd jump on the gh2 for sure.

Thanks for input guys, still have no fucking idea what to do though ahha

If you see yourself getting a GH2 eventually (which I would if I were replacing my T2i), then you may as well go for it right now imo so that you're not spending more money than you need to.

I'm sure it will take a few days to learn, but you know what you're doing enough to make the transition reasonably easy I bet.

I would never buy a 5D for video because of the lack of 60p. I think it's waay too expensive for somebody whose main interest is video. It also definitely has a look that I can't say I love.

What happened to your T2i? Stolen?

Well I'd say it really depends on what you're predominately shooting.

If it's weddings and narrative stuff I would opt for the 5dii.

If it's skiing then the easy option is another t2i. If you're willing to spend the money and time to upgrade a GH2 would be awesome.

I would personally do 5dii, if I had the money I would go for the 5diii. On the other hand I film 90% narrative and commercial so the full frame, better IQ and low light performance outweigh 60p. Having shot 60d/5dii side by side it's incredible how big the difference in IQ is.

I have no idea if that was helpful.

metabones is for sony e mount, i dont think they have an electronic m4/3's EOS adapter.
