I need help from GH4 and full frame owners

Okay, I have a GH3, and lately I have been wanting to sell my camera and upgrade. I miss the canon lenses, and I've been wanting to go back and full frame has been on my mind. As far as I knew, I thought I wanted to go to the full frame 6D, and start buying Canon lenses.

But today, I'm thinking about considering keeping my GH3 but with a Metabones speed booster and a Canon EF lens. I read that it reduces the crop factor, but is it really that much better? I couldn't stand the crop factor on my GH3, and I really want to know if it's worth it.

I also miss the photo capabilities of Canon cameras, I've never been super happy with using the GH3 for photos, but do you think this would change much with the addition of a speed booster and Canon glass?

So, what's your advice? Stay on the 4/3s train and invest in a speed booster and buy Canon glass or go full frame and buy Canon glass?

Thanks for listening guys, any advice would be awesome!

Also, my budget is about $1,400

Coming from using a gh4 with a metabones speed booster, Id have to say it definitely eliminates that gnarly 2x crop factor and will give you great results. However it won't give you the field of view of full frame as it will give you around the same crop factor as aps-c and super 35mm which is totally worth it. All in all when I made the switch from 4/3rds to metabones + ef glass it was probably the best equipment choice I have made with my gh4 because it gives you that much more flexibility in choice of glass. Also it really comes down to what you want to do as I primarily shoot video so the gh4 is a much better choice for me than canon cameras but for photo I definitely would take the 6d over the gh4 in almost a heartbeat. Hope this helps man.

Thanks man, I definitely hear what you're saying. I'm just thinking that I want that 60p and 96p that the GH4 has, and it's more of a well rounded camera compared to the 6D which only has 1080@30 even though it's better for photos. As I move into more commercial work, I find I need the 60p and the GH4 is the more well rounded camera all in all, as it has headphone jacks, focus peaking and everything else. And with the ef glass I think I could still enjoy taking photos with it. Do you agree with me if any of what I'm saying makes sense?

96p on gh4 quality isn't good tbh, I did a couple tests and just wasn't happy with it so I never used it.

For video, the GH4 is definitely a better camera than the 6d though, there's really no comparison there. With the metabones the crop factor's reduced yeah but you still won't have good autofocus if any. + 4k at 30 is nice for cropping in in post or just scaling to 1080p later, super crisp and shit

2x crop isnt even that bad man, a tokina 11-16 is so fucking wide on my gh3...

^ I second what heath said. You hardly ever see people using lenses wider than 20mm on set anyways
