"I need fantasy football help" thread

I need help with a trade. I got offered hakeem nicks for eddie lacy. I have morris, leveon bell, and giovani bernard also for my backs. I' ve been wanting 1 more wr since i only have fez bryant desean jackson and mike wallace, and mike wallace has been prtty shit this year. im thinking that nicks will pick it up soon. thoughts?

I wouldn't hang on to nicks, but at the same time his potential still looks to be higher than lacy. Cruz is getting what few good balls are being throne in NY, and the O-line hasn't shown anything to believe Eli will start throwing more good balls.

So Morris is a start, and i think geo bernard has a BIG upside, especially if Andy Dalton continues to throw short balls. He won't be Darren Sproles, but i see some Matt Forte in him. Think maybe 350 yards receiving on the year, with maybe 900 rushing yards as they use him more. So really i think you are OK on backs, but a real #2 or flex back would do you good. See if you can get a better trade or anything is on the free agent market. You won't be getting a #1, but i just picked up Ben Tate. I see him, benjarvus as a pair with geo, maybe Pierre Thomas, they all look to have a bigger upside than Lacy. As for WR, hang on to Mike Wallace. If you remember the second fin's game, he put up like 110 yards and 2 touchdowns, but he was being used all over the field instead of just deep bombs and a few screens. I think the Dolphins will try to use him like that again.

In the end Nicks might not be worth it for quite a while, but he still is worth more than a back who is shown to be injury prone and has other good supporting backs.

Thoughts on this trade? I send Hakeem Nicks and Julian Edelman and I get Josh Gordon, Dwayne Bowe and Lamar Miller.

I'd go with Rivers, especially if Greg Olson is out, if Olson sits it's definitely Rivers, no doubt. Rivers has the hot hand, Indy's defense is OK against the pass, but their O shouldn't have any trouble putting up numbers on SD's D, so Rivers will be airing it out to keep up.

I'd start Morris for your RB. He's getting most of the carries in that backfield, whereas Powell is sharing carries with Goodson and Ivory. The only thing to worry about is if Washington gets down big they have a tendency for abandoning the run. I'd still go with Alf, but this is one is a little bit tighter of a decision .

I've got lamar miller and hes pissing me the fuck off. So inconsistant and when he does bad he does AWFUL. Like 1 pt awful. I wish I never drafted him and I don't know why anyone would want him.

And how the hell do I replace Julio Jones...

Dude, I cannot, for the life of me, figure out what the hell Miami is doing with their run game. If you've watched any of the games that Lamar has done well, he's looked really good. And Daniel Thomas looks just god awful. Miller has a 4.2 ypc (very solid) versus Thomas' 2.6. I still have hope for him. I'm assuming he just doesn't know the offense as well as Thomas at this point, and as time goes on he'll get used more and more. But we'll see, could be totally wrong.

As far as replacing Julio goes...ouch, whose available on the wire? If Roddy and Julio are both out, Harry Douglas is going to get a lot of looks, but he's still a mediocre wide out. I'd grab Blackmon/Allen/Jeffery if any of them are out there.

Trade Advice

My Alfred Morris for his Bilal Powell and Marques Colston.

My Rbs are Jamaal Charles, Alfred Morris, MJD, David Wilson, Joique Bell.

My WRs are Hakeem Nicks, Reggie Wayne, Julian Edelman, Tavon Austin.

I know Powell seems like a massive downgrade at Rb, but his points this year aren't that far off Morris. I'm not enjoying my WR core atm and Colston would almost certainly start.

Good thoughts on the recievers... And yes I have watched every Miami game.. Dolphins fan myself so I made a biased draft pick and took Miller.. That worked out.

I hated blackmon last year, drafted him and got nothing, so I won't be trying that gamble again.. I can survive next week without replacing Jones, Allen is available right now so I can pick him up... BUT, my kicker is on bye right now so I was thinking replace with a backup kicker then get Allen next week? You think he will still be on the board?

I'm a die hard Vikings fan, will be at the game on Sunday. Play cam newton against the vikings, our secondary is brutal and newtonw ill be able to pick it apart, and when ever he pleases he can pull the ball down and run all over the vikings. Our defense really is bad, giving up something like 30+ points a game so far, and loves to allow game winning drives.

Rivers is on a roll right now, but I'd go Newton against the Vikes for sure.

I would reconsider Blackmon because he's literally the only option in that option with MJD shitting the bed. Allen might last until next week but as a Cal fan who watched this kid in college he's a great pickup. He's gonna become the primary receiver in that offense.

As for the kicker it depends, who you got that you might consider dropping to pick up a kicker and a Julio replacement?

Just because hes the only option doesn't mean hes going to be a good one or that he will be open. Who else was an option for them last year? Wasn't anyone who should have been better than him.. Jax is nuclear right now. I wouldn't want to go near that team lol.

Probably gonna pick up Allen and just possibly play without a kicker.

And my kicker is Bryant.. who should be decent but I may just swap kickers for someone who has gone on bye already if that is available.

That's true but they're gonna find a way to get Blackmon the ball. I like situations where the player is almost guaranteed to get touches

My biggest issue is I have 3 QB's who are all on and off. Vick, Rivers, and Brady... Brady has just been off lately and I don't think anyone would want to trade for him.

In fact my entire team is on and off.

Week 1. 56

Week 2. 121

Week 3. 69

Week 4. 103

Week 5. 90 (should have been more but I sat Hilton at gametime)

Jets D vs Steelers or Saints D versus Patriots?

If Calvin Johnson doesn't play it won't matter because I'll play the Browns D

First off, I'd drop Bryant for another kicker. Having Julio out hurts ATL's offense, that's already struggling a lot. He already hasn't been nearly as goo this year, and I'm not sure it's getting any better. Succop from KC has been doing really solid, and with KC's ability to move the ball, and not put it in the paint, could be a good every week option. Also, your boy Sturgis from MIA has been doing work, take a look at those two.

Regarding Blackmon, I get it, everyone had high hopes for him, and for the majority of last season he was extremely mediocre. But his last 5 or 6 games last year, he was a top 10 wideout, and he picked up right where he left off putting up 140 and a td last week. His coach has said he's super stocked with him, and I'm feeling pretty good about him. Hopefully I'm right, but go with what you feel homie.

It looks like you grabbed Allen already, good move. With Floyd out, he could very well emerge as the #1 option in SD.

If you're not in a 2 qb league, there's not a whole lot of reasons to roster 3 of them. Brady will turn it around, especially with getting the Gronk back. Honestly, I would consider combining maybe Rivers and Hilton coming off a huge game, and see if you can get a top 10 wideout or a solid RB in return. Something to think about.

Between the 2 you listed, I'd go Jets. I hate any D playing in Foxborough against the Pats coming off a loss. But I'm playing the Browns even if Calvin plays, and would over both of those options. They've had 10 days off and Calvin is banged up. D is a crap shoot though.

ok so i have two underachieving high round picks that i have a hard time benching and a hard time starting.

standard league

rb1: reggie bush (starting)

rb2: either mcghee(who is in right now) or chris johnson aka cj2ypc

wr1:torrey smith(starting)

wr2: justin blackmon(starting for now) or d.bowe.

flex: d.woodhead

so im wondering do i start blackmon over bowe and sit bowe? same goes for the rb2 spot? sit johnson and bowe? johnson finally got a decent game last week and finally got involved in the passing game but he faces the seahawks, although they have allowed 100 some yards per game. or do i shuffle it and have someone else other than woodhead at flex?

Personally, I'd go CJ over Mcghee. Not a great match up, but CJ get's a lot of work every game. Det's D line is pretty good too, and Mchee's pretty old and his YPC is not good so he basically needs a short TD to have a decent day.

Blackmon over Bowe, KC is just too conservative and their D has played too well for him to have good numbers. And as it looks in previous posts, I seem to be the president of the Justin Blackmon fan club. Really hoping he comes through again, or I'm going to look like a huge dick head hah. I'm playing him though, and I feel great about it.

Woodhead should be in every fantasy line up this week. With no Ryan Matthews, he's going to get a lot of touches (run and catch), and that game is looking like it could be a shoot out.

McGahee's YPC blows but he gets a lot of carries and he's the goal line guy while Jackie Battle is the goal line guy for . Also Detroit's run D is not good because after the D line there's no one. The Browns O line is really underrated. I think he'll get some points against Detroit especially with Weeden back at QB. CJ is gonna get less work than McGahee and McGahee has a much better match up. You can't play CJ who has been shitting the bed all season against Seattle at home

I agree with this. Kansas City doesn't throw the ball deep, you know Oakland's secondary is vastly improved and Bowe will be getting looks from Tracy Porter and Charles Woodson all day. Blackmon goes up against the Bronco's secondary which we saw last week has some issues

torrey smith, desean Jackson, Hakeem nicks, andre johnson. I only need to start two of them because alshon J is my flex.

Ok give me some advice. I finally dumped Boldin for Jordy Nelson so I'm happy that I finally have a consistent receiver to compliment Desean. But with Colston being non-existant, getting Aqib Talib coverage this week, and it doesn't look like my Colston for Steve Smith trade will be completed by Sunday so now I need a flex.

Here's my options: Mike Williams vs. the Philly D, Donnie Avery vs. Oakland (he might be the best option but he will be facing DJ Hayden and it's hard for me to play him against my Raiders), Fred Jackson vs Cinci but with Thad Lewis (Go Champ) at QB he could get a heavy workload), Zac Stacy vs Houston who's run D is good but not great, or anybody else you can think of on the waiver wire. 12 man league, not much out there though

Yeah that's what I'm leaning towards but I just found Santana Moss going against Dallas' awful secondary on the waiver wire. Thoughts on that versus FJax or Avery

personally i always go with a rb but its always a gamble going on a backup even tho jackson is a really really good backup. moss could have a big game cuz i think dallas is gona put up big numbers against the redskins d unless they suddenly turn it around. so moss could get a fair bit of garbage points. moss has a horrible completion percentage with rg3 tho. although moss was pretty consistent before the oakland game. not big numbers but solid.

I usually go with a receiver because our league is very thin at available running backs. Jackson could be good I'm skeptical going against the Bengals D and I think Thad Lewis is a competitor who finds a way to get things done. I think Cinci is going to load the box all game long forcing Lewis to throw and I think he'll do better than people think if they let him throw it.

Moss put up good numbers up until the Raider game but like I said before I think Oakland's secondary is underrated. Both D's in this game are garbage so it could be a shootout meaning huge points and Moss is a big play kind of guy.

If Avery is still limited with his injury (bruised shoulder, couldn't raise his arm after last weeks game) I think I'm gonna go with Moss. I have a feeling RG3 is gonna hit him with a couple over the top on Sunday.

^and right after I say that I read an article about how FJax and Mike Williams are gonna go big this week scoring 18 and 16 points respectively

eh, not really. A lot of people were saying he was a solid rb2. He was drafted in like 97% of leagues, so i wouldn't feel too bad. Every year some players just really underperform and theres not much you can do. I would hang on to him for 3 more weeks, and just let him ride the bench. See if you can get another back on the wire.

I just picked up Andre Brown and stashed him. He should be back in 3 weeks and when he is he'll be the starter. And the Giants O line actually looked OK last night. Hopefully he'll be a solid option late in the season and in play off time.

I was offered wes welker, shaub and steven jackson for brady lacy and mike wallace. I ahve RG3 as a back up and i got levon bell, gionavi bernard and alfred morris at rb. i have dez bryant and desean jackson. im thinking about taking this trade because i need one more good receiver and brady has been shitting the bed. thoughts?

Id do it. I like Steven more than lacy and Brady will probably be putting up better numbers now he has gronk back but rg3 has been pretty good without the running yards. Schaub is someone if just drop. And welker is solid.

so i got offered giovani bernard and DeAndre hopkins for andre johnson....good or bad trade?

but i countered for giovani bernard and vincent brown for andre johnson and brandon myers (to drop, to many players on roster) was that smart or no?

Last week my opponent had Romo so of course this week my opponent had the Rams D.

I had literally no options for flex, Broncos blew against the Jags so we never got Osweiller stalling drives in the 2nd half so Prater only had 5 points and the Browns D choked.

If the Rams D had even a great 20 point game I'd still be in it but noooooo they had to score 32 fucking points.

Fuck the Rams

Jay Cutler against Washington or double down with Nick Foles and DeSean against Dallas? Provided Vick doesn't play of course

TAKE THIS. I wish someone gave me this trade. As hot as the broncos are Welker is boss. Brady is doing shit fantasy wise and Lacy is week to week production, not very steady for me.

Pick up another QB from waivers, there are probably some good ones still out there. I was able to get Rivers off waivers.

Well, considering what we've seen this season so far, I never ever ever would have guessed that I should have played Flacco over Peyton this week, especially with Peyton going against the Jags. What the hell happened?! I'm up by 20 right now and only have Woodhead left, and she's got Luck remaining... If I end up losing by less than seven tonight (I'm currently the only one in my league at 5-0), my mind will be blown!

fuck matchups, fuck projections, fuck actual points. if you ever start flacco over peyton, youve made a mistake. you did the right thing, just chalk it up and move on. if you own peyton only theres 1 week a year you should even have a second qb rostered.

you could say i had a decent week..espn standard 12 team...just traded ridley and TY Hilton away for Desean and Woodhead, have roddy white, hartline, stevie johnson SJaxand rb handcuffs on bench
