I need computer/virus help

Hey guys,

I've searched around the internet quite a bit but I can't quite find a cure to getting rid of this browser hijacker nattly.com - it won't let me use google because it always redirects me to that nattly browser. Most "fixes" involve locating the file/program and stopping the process; however, neither of those show up anywhere on my task manager/computer.

has anyone had any experience with this? PLEASE HELP - this is driving me nuts!

PS im on windows 7

maybe reinstalling your web browser? doesn't sound like it's an actual virus

also not watching so much porn might help

actually just so you do know, It was from a website www.49mp3.com - I was desperate to have this cash cash remix that I literally could not find anywhere else.. and yep I took the bait.

restore your computer to a date of 2 weeks ago. Windows 7 backs up every so often so it shouldn't be a problem.

You'll need to be a lot more clear.

>What operating system do you use?

>When does it redirect to natty.com? When you enter a URL in the address bar? Or in the search bar? Have you tried both the address bar and the search bar?

>Have you tried using a different browser?

>Have you checked your browser's settings for default search engine, home page, etc?

>If you use Windows, have you tried running Malwarebytes Anti-Malware? (if you can't access the website, you can download it on another computer, then transfer the downloaded file to your infected computer via USB flash drive, then install it)

If you don't give us basic info like that there's nothing we can do for you.

Answering your question

I was on windows 7

whenever I search it redirects to nattly - it looks like an old version of google

That applies to searching from the search bar, address bar, and any other search engine

The browser hijacker was affecting chrome, firefox, and internet explorer

I reset default search engine, home page, browsing history, cookies, etc. numerous time and the hijacker rewrites it every time i restart the program

I tried Malwarebyter, JRT, Adware cleaner, Superantispyware, and one more that I forget the name of already.

I'm not 100% stupid with computers - I was just curious if anyone here had run into the same problem, because they would definitely recognize it and would at least be able to point me in the right direction.

Thanks!

Update tho: I cleaned it off last night after a combined 4 hour effort of trying to clean that thing over and over again. Nasty business!

basically what I did for anyone who runs into it in the future:

open regedit, searched nattly, and anything that had a reference to www.nattly.com i changed (not deleted - that exacerbated the problem) to www.google.com

Run malwarebytes

Run JRT

Run Adwareclean (this will force you to reboot)

Reset home page, search engine, new tab pages, etc in the browser and in control panel

clear browser data, cookies, etc.

go to c:/users/(user)/Appdata/roaming/ and delete anything with reference with nattly or searchprotection

right click on google chrome, go to properties and delete www.nattly.com from the end of the target

UNPIN CHROME FROM THE TASKBAR AND REPIN IT FROM DESKTOP (SUPER IMPORTANT)

cross your fingers, pray to buddha or any higher power you believe in and reboot

Sounds like you did everything right then. Must have been a tough virus to stand up to MBAM and the other stuff. But it's to be expected if you use WIndows, you should switch to Linux.

I had a similar virus that redirected to gimmeanswers.com, and there was this program called TDSSkiller that got rid of it. Now I have another not as bad search redirect virus and I can't get rid of it.

1) Search your computer via the start button for anything involving Natty. Literally just type it in the search bar. If you can find any files of it, delete them

2) Reinstall your browser
