I need a bombproof ski...

so im coming to terms with the fact that my STLs probably wont make it through this season. 6 edge cracks and counting, and the pressure from me dipping my edge on boxes is starting to crack the layer under the base. and this is all form almost a years use. so im looking to invest in a new pair of skis soon, and i want something beastly. id really prefer a symmetrical ski, i was looking at the walls, or maybe moment reno jibs/rockers. so what im asking is, what are some good, durable park skis that i havent thought of yet?

Fischer Addict (pro). the pro has extra tip and tail reinforcements. its stiff and handles like non other at high speed, plus is symmetrical. i love it, amazing pop. only thing thats annoying is that the top sheet started to chip after two days, but thats not performance

get some chronics. the edges are so beefy and the bases are very durable. i ride mine really hard and dont have any cracks or core shots.

no no no. the one and only bombproof ski- the head mad trix. read review on those they're indestructible. and you can find them for super cheap too cause they're like 2 seasons old.

i cant second this... i had a pair, that i gave to my friend that wanted to get into skiing that was on their 4th mount done by me and they still do not falter, absolutely no edge cracks and the kid riding them now is 200 plus pounds, there is no stopping them

however for a ski that is being produced now i would say like many others the Chronic would be your best bet

chronics have double thickness base, edge, and suuuuuuper beefy abs sidewalls.

larose pro will have the longest warranty

danollie has the ptex sidewall that u can fill, its cintered, shit is rock solid

While I'm a big guy and like the stiffness/performance of Volkl, i fucked up a pair last year, and have had a couple of broken pairs of walls come through our shop, if u want something bombproof, don't get those chinese made pieces of shit.

ATOMIC PUNX. or urbans which are double enforced on the edges under the boot, but i hear they are reeeeeaaaly soft

definitely not... i got the urban punx this season and they are shit. soft is right... the top sheet is completely chipped just about everywhere. granted the double edge underfoot is nice, but definitely not remotely close to being 'bombproof'.

Lolz. I went through two pairs of these in 3 months. Definitely not durable. The double edge is a sham. Atomic's warranty system is an even bigger sham.

double edge is definitely a sham. i got to ride a pair and i crushed and cracked the edge with 15 days of riding them.

volkl wall is super fun ski, but mine delamed rather quickly. i had volkl dogen before the wall and it did same thing. i have 2 pairs of head skis now (mad trix and mojo 80) and they are truly bomb proof. i ride a lot of urban and take a lot of nasty falls and the heads barely have a scratch. they are sorta heavy tho and not symmetrical. im not sure if head makes a true twin. maybe j.o. pro?

You sir, are high.
Volkls in my experience are bombproof. I still have my V-Pros and they're still intact, and just now breaking the edges after 6+ seasons on them. I'm really rough on my gear, larger, and heavier then the average NS'er. I'll always recommend them because they've never done me wrong.

Well so far we have proven only that everyone has broken every pair of skis at some point, and that many people disagree that they did so. Therefore: Get whatever ski is going to perform like you want it to.

The older volkls were bombers. Volkl V's and V Pros were beasts. New stuff doesn't seem to hold up to as much abuse though.

After trying almost every skis on the market, ive came to the conclusion that no ski is bombproof. No ski will resist to the impact of rails abuse and jumps. That being said Ive learned and now buy ski that are cheap so that way when there dead you just buy another pair. Because there is no warranty that will cover edge cracks.

im suprised nobody has said rossignol.

i have the 06 scratch fs which have been mounted three times and skied 45 days of park each year for three years. So after 135 days of park i have ONE chip in the topsheet, no edge cracks, and i had to order new skis this week because i broke the bindings (not a rip out). i have never seen or heard of rossis de-laming, and even though my edges are filed to almost a 45 degree angle from so many rails they are completly intact.

needless to say, i bought rossignols again.

I can third this. I owned a pair of Mad Trix and beat them to hell and they handled it all. I was so impressed with my next pair I got some Mojo 90s. These beasts are bombproof as well. Fuckin love them.
