I Might Die-Typhoon Haiyan

Wow, an estimated 1200 dead after this typhoon. Glad you're ok OP, my prayers go out to everyone out there.

i hope you all realize that missions aren't just about converting people anymore, they're about helping others who are poor or marginalized so that they can have better lives.... SMHglad you're ok op. prayers out to everyone in the phillipines

Maybe, but why did he tell us... it's had plenty of news coverage

It seems to me he only told to say how he was helping, or his church was helping... That isn't "giving" that can be viewed as showing off for either his or church's agenda..

Maybe not and i could be wrong, I hope he does help people, but it can be viewed this post had nothing to do with the typhoon but actually all about the OP.

Just a thought. I hope people are better off by him being there. RIP to all that have lost their lives..

No matter what his agenda, he has some balls, that's for sure

word good thing you made it through all that bullshit. You'll probably be hearing this soon but a kid from lewiston utah is still lost. that sucks but keep up the reconstruction efforts and let's hope his ass turns off.

Update:

I've been assigned to a new island.Mindoro. The people here were also hit by the typhoon. Doing this service work is very humbling. These people are so thankful for the little things we look past all of the time. For example a family that has candle light in their small house (hut) will be smiling and thanking you like you just saved their lives. The people here work so hard for what they have and they turn around and share it to the people that need it more. Thats how the filipino people are. Very kind and giving. Thanks for the support and concerns. This will be my last update. Take care NS. Ill be back in the future.

Makes me sad to see all you guys hating on what seems like a genuinely nice dude. I'm against organized western religion as much as the next guy, but this guy is braving the strongest storm system in a very long time to help those in need, which is far more than most of you hating on him would ever do.

threads...

As much as I'm not a fan of religion, I respect what you're doing a lot. Brave mafucka hang in there.

Loco loco sila. Inggat ka paliga. Magsipagan ka diyan hanggang sa wakas

Pasenysa na baluktot na ang akin tagalog.

Makes me sad to see all these parents forcing their kids to do the bidding of their church before they're allowed to do anything else with their lives. Simply put, if the Mormon church wasn't a brainwashing, cult-like business then this kid never would have been in this situation in the first place. There's absolutely no reason for the church to send their flock world-wide other than to recruit as many people as possible so the church can make more money.

It also makes me sad that they have zero respect for other peoples' belief systems by baptizing their dead, just so the church can claim more members than they actually have.

I agree with you 100%. But even if this dude has green brought up in what probably isn't the best way, he's out there facing death to help people and that takes some sort of character, no matter what that may be.

bellow is from the OP, the guy specifically invited commentary (criticism) about his religion. these people "hating" are just stating their opinions.

Let me know as well what you think of the Mormon Church. Feel open with your comments.

ive met mormon missionaries only twice. both times they were complete retards. i was actually nice enough to give them the time of day and instead of engaging in a real conversation they recited their bullshit beliefs like robotic idiots

nah nah nah nah... jerking off into Hot Pockets. The ham and cheese feels most like a woman's bottom front parts, I think.

and the whole point of OP was to push his religion onto your said beliefs.

No, you dumb fuck.

The kid is helping make a difference...of course he's gonna mention why he is there...if not everyone and their mom would ask "wtf you doing down in the phillipines".

You are an ignorant bastard.

You kids are missing the point and now you think I'm personally insulting this white angel of hope... nah man, I'm just pointing out that he was forced to do all this. If it wasn't for the church's stance of "you do this or your entire family abandons you" then he wouldn't have gone or been in such a high risk situation in the first place.

I'm not saying shit about what he's doing there now aside from I hope he doesn't baptize their dead. Gosh golly, so mean.

Sorry for the double post. Skiierman. This kid wasnt forced to go. I went on an lds mission to the philippines too. Though this may not be the popular life choice on ns it should still be respected. Its a huge sacrifice and get off this baptizing dead people to add to membership thing your on. It doesn't work like that.

Alsoi can say when i was a missionary i went because i wanted to and i don't regret a single day. Like el gato said at least he's doing something good for the world.

Rich18 magpatuloy ka lang tanga naman ang mga haters. Pasensya ha sa pagmumura ko kaso lang totoo siya.

I'm sure they appreciate that. They won't need energy bars and water if you pray for them. Thank you for doing sooooo much to help the people of the Phillipines.

You wanted to go because your church and family spoon fed you since birth that your "mission" is one of the most important things you could do and that it's essential for you to make it into heaven so you can own your own planet and have an entire people to enslave to your bidding.

Honestly who gives a shit if they think mission trips are the most important thing ever? Who give a shit whatever they believe in? If what they believe makes them a better person and that person is helping the world who fucking cares?
