I made a website for saving skate spots

Hey NS!

I've been working on this website for a little while now. Its a website for saving skate spots, but there are categories for pretty much every action sport, including skiing obviously. You can mark your spots as private. There are many features on the way, and I can be pretty reactive to requests. I'd love to hear any feedback you might have.

Good point! At this point, theres not much of an advantage to it. I guess the fact that there are already a bunch of locations gives you a boost of potential locations. The upcoming features are mostly around collaboration, stuff like:

  • Sharing private spots with friends
  • Creating public/private lists
  • 'favoriting' spots
  • rating spots
  • advanced searching/metadata, like "double kinks where it's snowed in the past few days"

Google maps has been my staple for saving spots until I made this, so I know where you're coming from.
 
I dig the idea. The website says maybe I would like Park City skatepark in KS, which I wouldn't because I'm in NY. Its new though so best of luck!
 
You should make like a drop down bar or something where you would select whether you are a skater, a skier (or even snowboarder), or climber. That way your not getting climbing spots when you want skating spots or vice versa.
 
i thought everyone thought this was a bad idea because it'll blow spots up and turn them all into bust spots.
 
This is a great comment, because there already is this dropdown, its just obviously not clear how to do it. I added a little down arrow next to the 'category' dropdown on the top to (hopefully) better indicate that it's a dropdown, but heres a gif anyways:

I would agree with that sentiment. You can mark a spot as 'private' when you save one, and only you will be able to see it.

Not my point... my point is that skiers and snowboarders can generally hit most of the same urban. So let me rephrase...

You should make a "snow sports" option.

you're the man! this is real sick. Skullcandy had something like this years back but not as easy to use and defiantly not a map designed such as this. Stoked to see it evolve
 
oh i wasnt criticisng you, i was just having fun with the NS anti snowboarder attitude, i used to board aswell. I was just jokin around.

If i dont understand incorrectly, there is a snow spot option.
