hahah did u guys see the outtakes in WAR the one where they make fun of that guy who does that 180 ahahhahah that was probably the funniest thing ive ever seen
 
i actually do like skiing switch though

i like going switch and buttering over a small incline or drop
 
i also like how he was skiing with a coke or pepsi and then when he skis over to pete he crushes the can. whatvere he is the man, hes haveing fun and not bothering anyone

im completely with you could you imagine how that would feel you thought they thought you were pretty cool and watch that video or read this thread and think wow they didnt like me they just thought i was stupid and wanted to make fun of me everyone is like that at one time....
 
okay u can over analyze this all you want but first of all if you were that good and saw someone trying like that trying to do what you were doing and stuff u like have to make fun of him especially if hes 42 or w.e has his googles up and has no poles.... now if it was someone with twins poles younger i dont think they would have made fun of him but yea they were just having fun
 
I laugh becuase he is so excited, and he crushes a can in his hands. It's his enthusiasm I love, if I saw him I would probably let him know that I saw him in a movie doing a 180 on a jump at northstar.

secondly, yeah it does get a lot worse. fucking ppl are always bitching about how older ppl dont understand our sport blah blah blah, and here we have an older guy who is just having a fun time crusing around the park not bothering anyone. who gives a fuck if he didnt have POLES, personally i think peter olenick acted like an immature fucker for someone who is supposed to be an ambassador for our sport.
 
I couldn't agree more...

There is a great commonality in the idea that our sport has to be respected by others and seen for what it is.. fun and enjoyable.

However when someone pulls out an elitist attitude like that it makes it hard for ME to like being part of this.

The idea that someone is out there, enjoying what we do with as much (if not far more) enthusiasm really stokes me... the idea that Peter O thinks that he is "better" than that person simply because he has more talent is nauseating.....

BUT what is most upsetting about this is that it made it into the movie.. yes.. we have all laughed at gapers now and then.. but we don't market and broadcast our opinions to the world. That is cruel and harsh and how stoked can that guy be after he might see that? His excitement for the sport will surely diminish.. and that is a loss that NONE of us can afford.
 
haha yeah i laugh because he´s so enthustiastic too, love seeing guys with passion like that its always fun.

Oh come on people, you're looking to much into the whole deal. We have all made fun of gapers, but they wheren't doing it to such an extent as you are making it out to be. Pete doesn't think he's better than everyone else, nor better than that dude that loves skiing backwards. It's a light hearted joking matter that they where involved in and I'm sure if the guy saw that footage, he wouldn't be crushed, he'd accept it and be like, "Wow, those kids and their skiing backwards these days." I'm suprised how you guys can so easily mistake the Olenicks as cocky or stuck up when they're out there skiing and having just as much fun as that dude they met up with.
