i have the 09/10 rome artifact 1985 (153), with rome 390's for my bindings and i got some k2 boots (:

Im shredding my soul out

nice man i have the same setup except the 150. i have never rode less than a 152 but im gonna have to say i love it. and reverse cambe = the shizznit.

how are short reverse camber boards in pow? i want like a 149-152ish reverse camber board next season and love park and want a short board for that but i love pow at the same damn time.

the reverse chamber really helps the board float on the pow. the board being short is the problem and honestly its not really even a problem. i find that i wheely out alot more than usual with the shorter board but once your use to is thy are awesome. if your really wanna ride both park and pow i would stick with a 152

remember that you also loose waist width, side cut, and stance width when you go to a shorter board.and regardless of camber style, when you land off of any size jump or cliff in pow, you will be wishing you had a longer board so you dont sink straight through.

so just because all the companies that want you aboard the reverse camber hype train say you can ride their 149cm super soft street-stick 2000 in neck deep pow and at the rail garden on the same day, you really cant.

152 might fit you riding style and weight and everything, but if it doesnt, and you should be on a 156, dont start shrinking board size just because its reverse camber. you will end up feelingdisappointed.

I agree with most of what your saying. a 152 is never gonna perform as well as a 156 in pow. Board size is an such a personal preference its really hard to say what size to get. i mean you can start off with your height because someone who is 6 foot tall is not gonna ride a 150, unless they want to. its all personal preference and what your riding style is like. Im 5' 8" and if i owned a 156 it would be strictly for pow and pipe.

as for side cut, if you mean effective edge then ya you lose it but unless your a racer going at a billion mph its not really gonna matter and waist width you wont lose that. i have a 150 and i ride 24". most people dont ride more than 25 or 26"

^^ "side cut" is the radius that is cut into the sides of the board. so you can turn. it changes to suit the board length. and you DO notice it. it makes a pretty big difference on how a board rides, because it dictates how tight or large a radius the board can carve.

and by "waist width" i mean the actual width of the board. not the stance. a 150 is going to be skinnier than a 156

sorry i meant stance width. thats my bad. your right on the side cut. i was a lil high last night when i wrote that haha. i think with what he wants to do which is park and pow he will be good with a 152 or 54 rite in that range. it all depends on if he wants to ride park and hit pow when its there (small board) or vise versa (larger board). if hes hitting backcountry booters a small board isnt gonna treat you very well.

where is the op. i think at this point we need his input more than anything haha

haha the 152 is super smooth on rails, and great for jumps, but yesterday a HUGEEEEEE chunk of my nose of the board pealed off and im opoxying it right now, i havnt done too much pow yet this year except for Vt, and it worked like a charm (:

hell yeah man. I demoed the artifact rocker a couple times this year and I'm real syked on it this time. I'm like 6'1" like 175 and I'm gonna get next years 153 with my old orange union contacts and thirtytwo lashed boots. Keep in mind that I am in wisconsin and prefer rails over jumps and having a more loose/playful board, so thats why I am getting such a small baord for my size. I demoed the 150 and it actually felt pretty good and the 156 felt a little big. My setup is gonna be THE AIDS next year.

this year I ahve a burton hate(flat camber loose board) and I really like it but I want the artifact rocker cuz it is so much more fun and doesn't feel non-poppy like almost all the other reverse camber boards out there

dude definitely get the artifact. I rode the 150 this year and its soooo sick. its lacking a lil in the jump department but as for rails and all over mountain fun its an A+++++

I am taking my chances with something new. My new board is a High Society that has all of the same tech as the never summer evo but also with carbon pop sticks. Got it for 230 down from 500 on whiskeymilitia.
