except that in college you have to work to pass, in HS you could chill out a whole year and still pass easily ...

enjoy while you can, I'm in my last semester and I can't fucken wait to get out of here. Freshman and sophomore years are a joke but once you get into your high level class's shit gets real. I'm in a very difficult major tho so I'm sure not everyone feels the way I do

so much of this^

you really have to work hard if you want to party hard, especially with an engineering major like i'm two years into...

99% of college is scheduling. good scheduling = good classes at good times = you go to class = you pass the class = easy.

Another important facet of scheduling: keep a daily planner or a to-do list on a piece of paper with what needs to be done and what date it's due. On another piece of paper, plan out your day. Put the time down the left side and write what you plan to do at that time.

Ex:

8:00am Wake up

9:00am English until 10:15

10:00am

Break

11:00am Math until 12:00

12:00pm Break until 1:00

1:00pm Study Math until 2

...and so on.

In short, college is easy and maintaining a balance between school and social life is easy if you get your priorities straight.

Scheduling lecture aside, good to hear you're enjoying it

i feel you on that ski the springs u really do gotta work hard in class and actually study thats one of the biggest changes ive had so far and im a week in i have had to actually study for the first time in my life

thanks for the advice i do have a planner i carry everywhere and also have a desk calendar where i put down due dates and other important dates like interviews

Seriously hahahaha. " man I love college.. What the hell is that old guy babbling on about.." go learn something Christ it's your first class.

Not really true. As long as you go to class, you will pass 99% of your classes. With minimal effort in a lot of classes you can easily 4.0 them. Depends on your major and what classes you're taking I guess.

in my major its actually the opposite. First 2 years are super hard and then you start specializing and it gets a little bit easier

this. I have organic chem, microbiology, ecology (trying to change to physiology still), and language of medicine. Not exactly and easy schedule. two labs as well.

mostly true, there are some classes (like chemistry 105, etc) that I had to study for.

don't let skipping become a habit. once you skip a day or two it becomes wayyy too easy to just lay around and not go to class.

also don't be a douchebag and bring a laptop to class, shit is distracting, learn to take good notes and listen.

other than that, get ready for the best times of your life.

dude its intro to political science basically talking about current events happening in the government and tha basis of our government which ive already learned hmm wonder why thats gonna be my major

Terrible advice. I don't know where you go, but when I was in college, like 75%+ people would have laptops in class, and most of my lecture notes and shit were online, so if you could bring them up in class and add your own notes, it made things way easier. Plus, it's ten times easier to take notes in Microsoft Word than on a piece of paper. What's annoying is when people bring their laptops to class and watch youtube videos and shit for the entire class. Should have just skipped.

i always see kids on computers. none of them are ever doing anything class related. plus it's way easier to write, especially easier to draw weird figures like cell structures

I've always wanted to do orthopedic surgery, but I'm keeping an open mind. Most people I know who are either in med school now, or residents/doctors said they had their mind set in one thing, but after doing their clinical rotations decided on something else that they fell in love with.

sorry bro but having a laptop in class is not a replacement for hand-written notes. it's far too easy to watch youtube videos/facebook/newschool with a computer in front of you. sure you can record the lecture/type notes into word but i believe that listening/hand writing notes is the best way to absorb information...and minimize the chances of distraction

I don't know too much about orthopedic surgery, but I definitely agree with you on the med school/changing your mind thing. Its great that you still have a chance to change your mind, because if you try to change in fellowship or residency, your life is gonna get fucking hard.

Yes because writing formulas, equations, graphs, etc in Microsoft Word is easier than writing them down..

90% of people who have their laptops open in class are either on Facebook or browsing the web while occasionally switching to look at the pre-written notes they have on their computer while never actually writing anything new down.

Bandolero just got bent over and fucked in the ass with that comeback.
And AR6rider then stood atop the hill and said SILENCE YOU TEXAN SCUM, and there was silence.

Meh. There's no point in getting a college degree or trying in school at all. We're all going to die next year anyways.

I don't know, it just seems to be such a big deal, like from OP "OMG parties are like soe mucho beaetterr" and stuff like that. And the whole cliché of experiencing things during college, gah.

haha maybe. No partying/experiences in europe? Or is it just like another school, just with tougher subjects?

Of course there are crazy fucking parties everywhere... but I just don't see that such a big deal is made out of it. And again, it's not like Europe =/= one specific college.

Learn your flags you dumb motherfucker. Mark it zero.

His school is obviously shit if going to class for a science degree is all one needs to do.

im not sure about college, it can be really fun sometimes, and other times i cant stand it.

I swear there are more stupid people in college than the people who dont go. its like everyone is the same person, everyone does well in highschool because they are told it will get them into college, they go to college because they are told thats what you HAVE to do to have a good life and make money. they get out of college and get a good paying job because thats what your supposed to do. they get a big house and a nice car and a wife and kids and are happy following thee same path everyone else does, living the life that everyone says they should live i find there are very few people who actually go to college because they want to and are interested in learning. and it seems like those are the people who start college a couple years or more after graduating high school.

That and i fucking hate the whole college scene. nobody knows how to have real fun. its so damn hard to find people who want to do something other than get drunk and dumb their minds down until they feel like they are having fun. its sad. its like everything needs to be provided for them. just like they need to be told to go to college to have the motivation to. they need to have alcohol, and the attention of 100 other people to have fun. they cant create their own happiness. they cant go out and do something that betters themselves to have fun. its like nobody is happy with themselves in their sober/ real state of mind, or has any self respect.

this isnt always the case, but for the huge majority it is. there are the occasional people who actually go to college because they have a passion to fulfill or have a passion for learning. and they are the ones who tend to get by with c's taking what they want from classes, and spend their free time away from the college scene.

Precisely. Any retard can complete the first two years of college. I am not looking forward to junior/senior at all...
