Had a friend break a pair of Madshus XC skis trying to do a cork 5... They aren't quite made for that kind of riding. Still fucking sick though.
 
I still dont see how its possible to land switch on nordics... i tried once on a mellow hill and it just doesnt work. That tree jib was tight though.
 
You could have a dope rail game with a locked heel and some XC skis. Spinning would be sooo easy. Also salomon makes an XC ski with metal edges. And as for the video, kinda weird but sick in its own way. At the end they should have just had a big sign that said fuck tha police.

one question though: how do you keep from ripping the bindings apart? aren't XC bindings thin plastic things?
 
thats not me in the first vid, but the bindings are still pretty solid and they cant pre-release. The guy in the first video is Andy Newell of the US xc team
 
These guys are better on Nordic skis than most Newschoolers are on twin tips. No wonder there are some haters.
 
i had seen it before but this is pretty sick for nordic because as a nordic racer, there is much less control and so much less under foot it is amazing what these guys are doing
 
any idea what kind of set up he was using? it would be sick to be able to hike properly, not in heavy ass boots
