its pretty naive to think that burning tons and tons of gas and coal and whatnot, day and night, around the world is going to have no effect. maybe we are maybe we arent the sole cause of climate change but its ridiculous to say we have no effect.

global warming does not mean less snow...warmer temps mean more energy and stronger storms...all storms are fuels by ocean temps...as ocean temps rise, storm strength increases...more moisture, warmer temps = more snow!!

the east cant afford a warmer winter....our season starts so late already and ends so early. during the winter its super cold but not in early winter and late witner.....i think that these gas's are affecting our temperature and we need to slowly use less and less. gas prices arent the only things rising....

If you think about it, with the worlds oil supply running low people will start to look for alternatives, solar etc. There will be a natural calm of emissions in the years to come and if greenhouse gases are the cause they will subside, so stop worrying about melting the ice caps and start worrying how your going to get a 400bhp electric car ;)

well if there is no global warming than explain this

-this year in scotland the ski season lasted exactly 8 weeks at CairnGorm Mountain and at other places in Scotland it lasted only 5 weeks and in a few decades skiing is expected to disappear altogether there

-and in Austrailia the ski industry is expected to be wiped out in as little as two decades

- in places all over for every degree celcius in warming will be three weeks less for a ski season

for those of you who say there is no global warming you should take a look what is happening around the globe and even if there is more snow where you ski at there will be other places suffering from a lack of snow

in the long run we will feel the effects of global warming and basically it sucks for everyone

El Nino fucks Oregon and Washington and places around there. global warming just increases temperatures in the South American waters creating the el Nino current (or so my dad tells me) which gives snow to california and not Oregon

 
I think every one needs to chill out..first of all the earth does go throught cyles...and u can't have one bad winter and say oooo crap global warming..winters pack redicoulous amounts of snow like calis this year...but 2 years ago it sucked balls...just how it goes. besides global warming is an extremely gradual and slow process. talking like 2 degrees up in the next 100 years

Um actually he's not living under a rock. The way that the weather patterns will change will bring a lot of snow to California and leave Whistler dry. He didn't deny global warming at all, just pointed out that its better for those of us who ski in Cali.

obviously everything we are pumping into the atmosphere is bad for shit. but i dont believe its causing the warm weather. dont even make a case about this past season being shit. one year can not measure climate change. 10 years can barely do that. weather goes in 30 year cycles. my dad went through a warm spell. then he went through a rediculously cold spell. now were warming up again. fucking hippies probably blame the caveman for melting the glaciers and ending the ice age, or something dumb like that. weather changes. quit buring so much fossil fuel, their bad, but they aint gonna change the weather for us. anyways all the methane gas actually cools down the earth and neutralize any sort of warming trend that may be occuring

Wow, this topic turned into a big fight.

But yeah, Global Warming is no bull.

And also, the weather patterns we see now have happened before, at least where I am. My dad said the way the weather is where I live is just like it was in the 70s, lots of hot days in the summer with hundreds of forest fires, along with cold winters with lots of snow.

The Earth definitely is heating up, though, whether global warming or not. 20 years ago a neighbouring city of mine would frequently see about 15 feet of snow buildup in the winters. People would have to dig tunnels to the front door of their house and typically many of the roads were unusable. Now.. they see maybe 1ft of buildup if they're lucky.
