I haven’t logged into NS in 10 years. What’s changed?

Harvey is gone.

NS has a big ol' parent company/overlord.

Cults are dead.

The store is kinda/pretty much dead.

New lame logo.

People get offended far easier.

eheath has a ban hammer now.

skierman lost his edge. kinda like cougar in top gun.

Terrible music is popular.

Ski movies are dying.

Gear is more expensive and still made in Giina.

Vail owns a lot.

People still don't like Vail.

People in the park don't talk to each other anymore.

Instagram has taken over the edit/content game completely.

^ NS stood by and watched it happen with so few resources to do anything about it.

Magazines are pretty much dead or dying.

Remaining mags are all but giant ads.

Pink names are still 80% fake.

Did I miss anything?

Great run down, thank you. Before Facebook/Instagram this places was a legit social community. Harvey, MrBishop and the rest of em are class acts. Skierman and eheath... legendary. What about toiletboy?
 
Skierman listens to NPR now, were still pissed at Warren Miller Entertainment, Stept is working on a 2 year project with Henrik Harlaut and they are trying to bring swerve skiing into the backcountry. Oh and NSG has become a 4chan repost board instead of a reddit repost board.

Welcome back OP. Ive been hanging around since 2003.

NS is more civilized, but less active than it was. The site layout is much better. Enjoy the new format!

Just signed into NS for first time in like 3 years and this made me sad. Started when I was like 15-16 in HS and I lived and breathed NS and ski content, and coming back at 23 wishing I could cut everything out of my life and go back to the good ol NS GLORY DAYS. Ski content 24/7 skiing every moment I could. Getting older and jobs suck. End rant

Ns is kind of like when you are playing call of duty and the server crashes and kicks everybody out except for you, and you wander around on the map, alone and by yourself.

we are all gonna die and be forgotten anyways

Used to be if you were in the park in one way or another you had an affiliation to this site. Seeing NS stickers everywhere (the old logo that was just a fancy NS) and you could surely do the classic chads gap call out. The ultimate best tho was that ALL of the banger edits dropped right here. No instagram one shots, just banger edits dropped and promoted on NS. Shit like DownToFilm, Junction 133, New Intelligence Group. Fuck man those were the days wish we all knew it when it was happening.

I joined in 2012 in the 6th or 7th grade. I remember going to mountains and meeting people that i had reconized from here and it was really cool. Then my dad took me to the Ns meetup at R2R with Doug where i met chubz and ming. Im 21 now and my love for skiing is still there but fading now that i work full time. Really all of that wasnt long ago but seems like forever lol. I cant imagine being on here since the early 2000s. Thats super impressive to me. Now i just pop on at work every once and a while. Glad i still got to experience and build connections with the site. I would guess that im part of one of the last groups of kids to build those in person connections on here. Ik people still link up but seems seldom and regionals are dead. ID still love to hit IF3 sometime (:
