I have an idea

So i’m in the market for a new set of pow skis. Basically my idea is to buy two mono skis and mount them normally and essentially just have the widest fucking skis ever imagined. Anybody think this would work?

1. This is an amazing idea.

2. This is a very expensive idea.

3. How are you going to put brakes on the bindings?

1. thank you

2. may have to start a go fund me

3. will cross that bridge when the time comes

For the brakes you could try and do a dyi version. You could make your own, or bend out whatever brakes you get then duct tape some bent forks on either side.

No need for brakes, they dont do anything in pow anyway, get pow ribbons if you're expecting to lose a ski.

OP do it, you wont regret it, except if the core layout means if you mount a binding in the centre you're mounting into a soft wood, meaning likely binding pullout.

on an unrelated note, when are your 2022 powder skis coming out?

If you do it, please do at least one groomer run lol.

also you could just get 2 swallow tailed snowboards.

2. They make 150mm brakes for attacks, those would probably fit?

All depends how sales go of our other skis in the next year. COVID has messed with our expected release timeline, basically lost a seasons worth of growth.

The mono ski is like, in the 190’s underfoot so no I don’t think those would work unless OP was mounting up two short swallow tail snowboards

I was sort of joking but because the attack brakes are so wide I bet it wouldn't be as far off as you'd imagine. Probably just go with leashes though.

I have some Hellbents that I still keep on my active rotation. And the thing is, I’ve never once been like you know what I wish these things were bigger… FWIW

Nah pivots with no brakes and hunting for them is part of the experience and a deterrent for bailing

This board comes in a 203. Couple of these with some pivot 18s and you’re gonna be set!!

I recommend just snowboarding for pow, I personally enjoy it more. Granted I’m on the ice coast and the most pow I’ve skied is only two feet.
