I have an idea

You know legit duct tape, like pretty much sticky aluminum foil. Well if you put that on your boots (maybe liner too?) wouldn't that keep your feet a lot warmer? And you would have some sick reflective boots that no one else has. Just thought about this last night and figured I'd share. What do you guys think?

dude i feel like your about to get fucked by ns.... cause ppl cant hold there composure. but get some old boots and try it

That wouldn't work for the same reason that they don't just make jackets with 100% waterproof material like plastic bags. Your feet will sweat so much and get soaked and will be so much colder than they were before.

Same reason why thinner socks are generally warmer than thick socks when skiing.

yeah but what if you put it on the outside of the boot, plastic doesn't breathe either. Kinda cut it out so it covers everything except the buckles

I think what you are looking for is called aluminum heat shield tapeyou could cover the outside of your boots with the stuff but i dont think you would get any insulation out of it. In fact on a cold day that much metal around your foot might actually make it feel colder.

this is the stuff you are talking about, i have 3 rolls. i might try it in the winter if i get bored.

A lot of duct tape becomes unsticky when it gets cold. Some might work but i had it on mine because a toe piece feel out allowing snow to get in and i don't think it helped at all with heat
