I have a very important question about the Sony HXR-MC50U Ultra Compact Pro AVCHD Camcorder

If any of you have it, Im looking to purchase it, but I heard that to upload your footage you need a special program which does come with the Camera, BUT it only works on PC's. I was wondering if that is true, and if there are ways around it?

if you use final cut, you can log&transfer clips right into final cut.

>open final cut

>log&transfer

Do you have this camera or what? I was just reading reviews and some dude said you have to install this special program that comes with the camera in order to transfer video from the camera to the computer. and apparently it doesn't install for mac? Just PC.
 
-Software youre thinking of is PMB, should come with camera-I have a hdrcx550, not the same camera, also shoots in AVCHD, i think this will work for yours, too

-Do you have FC?
 
No but I could purchase it if I need too, I planned on it anyways, and does the PMB work for Macs or only PC. Until I get FC can I import video on if I can't install PMB
 
you cannot import in onto the mac, you cant even install pmb on the macyou can install the pmb on a PC, look at clips there, use PC supported editing software
