I have a disk stuck in my macbook help!

So I put a blank DVD-R into my macbook and attempted to burn a movie to it through itunes, an error popped up and the disk ejected, while I was watching another movie so I set the disk aside. I put it in to try and figure out what happened, itunes never recognized it so i opened finder to see if I could figure out if anything got written or not, it wasn't in there either so I hit the eject button and nothing, again, again, nothing. So I restarted and same thing. So the disk is still in my drive with no way to get it out, what do I do?

sparknotes: Disk in drive, computer doesn't recognize, wouln't eject, how do I get it out.

You have a few options here.

1) Shove another disc in there and eject both of them at the same time

2) Pliers

3) Hammer

4) get another computer cuz mac's eat your discs

5) Pee in it

6) Start a riot

7) Get a hobo to analy rape you

Same thing happened to me. Does it just make a wierd noise? Just keep trying to eject it. It will come out..eventually.
 
I had the same problem a while ago

Set the laptop on a flat surface, and try ejecting; if that doesnt work, turn off ur laptop, and turn it back on, and then try to eject it again

If none of the above worked, try placing something thing and flat, like a business card, into the disk hole, and put some downward pressure with the business card while holding the eject button

I appreciate all the support from everyone else, I really appreciate all the sarcastic comments they really helped, it's nice to see when someone has a problem that they can count on NS.

I figured it out, just for future searchbar's go to disk utilities and erase and eject the corrupted disk.
 

If you can’t eject a CD or DVD, try the following:■Quit all applications that are using files on the disc, and try again.■Open Disk Utility (in the Utilities folder in the Applications folder), select the disc, and choose File > Eject.■Choose Apple menu > Restart, and then hold down the mouse or trackpad button until the disc ejects.■If your drive has an emergency eject hole, put the computer to sleep and insert a large, straightened paper clip in the small emergency eject hole of the drive (the location varies, depending on the drive). Push firmly until the disc ejects.■If all other methods fail, you can try to eject the disk using the firmware. (This may not work on all computers. For example, it does not work on Intel-based computers.)

This happened to me last year...
The disk is pulled in and out by two arms, one of them is broken... So honestly take it into the apple store and they will fix it in about 5 days... Other than that... Sorry
 
i had that happen to me. bring it to the apple store they have this little tool that will take it out
 
haha this happened to Purple thats on ns. he thought one of those mini disks from video cameras would magically fit in his mac so he stuck it in. after he couldnt get it out, he decided to shove another dvd in there because he thought it would make the situation better... it didnt.
 
I know nothing about macbooks but i looked at this thread because i thought it said i have a dick stuck in my macbook. sorry for the confusion and i hope you fix your problem
 
I know it was already answered, but I'll put in my advice. My disk drive is pretty fucked by now. I've had my macbook for almost 4 years I think and it's on it's last legs (holdin out for college, my fingers are crossed) I have to use a combination of a paper clip and 2 dimes to get the disk out. I have to kinda get the paper clip behind the disk and push it out, while kinda gripping it with the two dimes. It takes a while, but I don't feel like taking it to the apple store. I only have to last like 6 months before I get a new laptop, or whenever apple does their college deals and shit.

well it might be that my disk reader is broken but when mine gets stuck i just shut off my computer, close it, turn it on its side with the insertion side facing down, then i just shake it hard a couple times and it eventually comes out
 
Dude what ever you do, dont stick another disc in, in the hope they'll eject together...same thing happened to mine and for some reason this seemed like the best idea. Its not...you just end up with 2 discs stuck in there lol. Get 2 credit cards and pries it out.
 
For some reason I pictured you being one of the few people on this site that don't smoke... thought of you as more of a beer/liquor guy.
 
i lost a disk in mine. just hold down the mouse pad and eject button when you boot it up. if that doesnt work i cant help you
