And I know absolutely nothing about guitars. Or music. Can you even get a somewhat good one for that price? All I know is I want an acoustic, normal ole guitar that I can learn to play in my free time

thanks

to be honest, not really. You could get lucky on craigslist/eBay etc. A 200 clam new guitar probably won't be very good. Having said that, if it's just for chillng and mucking around then I guess you can't go too far wrong. Just don't expect good tone.

Really hard to say. Where I live shit's expensive. I would have a guess that you should be able to get something in good nick with good tone, playability etc for not much more than 500. Look for one with a solid wood sound board like spruce or cedar. Really depends on what you want to do with it though man.

Also, look for something with a solid neck. They tend to go out of shape on cheaper guitars and make it more difficult to play.

I bought my guitar for 185$ in "beat up shape" but.. it's just a heavily worn Martin that, if I cleaned it up a bit more, would be a pretty insanely sick guitar... I really just need new frets and it would be good. The neck is fantastic, the action is supurb and the only real problem with it, is that it looks like it's been thrown around a little bit.

Point is - If you keep your eyes out, you can find some pretty awesome stuff out there...

You dont need anything over 200 if you've neer played and just want to goof around on it inyour spare time. At the guitar center near where i live the acoustics were reletively cheap ( 250- 200ish) and the elctrics were cheaper. If you look hard enough you'll find one you want.

just look around pawn shops or guitar shops for a good, used acoustic with good action and tone. for 200, you're not gonna get an amazing, new guitar. legit taylors and martins start at like 600+. or just save your money and get a tube amp, a decent electric, and a delay and let the feeling flow

YOU CAN PROBABLY FIND A BILLION SHITTY ACOUSTIC GUITARS FOR UNDER 200$THE ACOUSTIC ONE I HAVE IS PRETTY SICK, BUT IT WAS $300, ITS A GODIN SEAGULL.

ALSO, ACOUSTICS ARE NO FUN TO PLAY ANYWAYS SO JUST PICK UP A LINE6, SOME EMGS AND AN ESP AND GO TO TOWN

go on criaglist and find a used epiphone, dean or seagul.... do some research before you buy. My first guitar was a cheap dean acoustic that I still play from time to time and its a good beater

get a yamaha fg-335. i got mine for 250 with a hard case, the tone is fantastic and it's a great beginner's guitar

get something acoustic, pussy magnet in college. If you get a puppy as well you will be rolling in vaginas

see if you have a friend that can let you use theirs to see if its something youre interested in. if it is, i would save up to the 5 or 6 hundred dollar range and then you can always sell it and use the money plus a little more to upgrade. i started with a $600 taylor, upgraded to a $1300 taylor and just shelled out $1400 for an orchestra body guild because im more into folk and fingerpicking. point is, with guitars there are noticable differences in aestetics, tone, and overall quality with pretty much every price level. good luck

if your looking for electric a brand new epiphone les paul go for about 189 at the store near me in canada

hey dude i, i bought a guitar.

that, for only 115 times a dollar.

the guitar was normally worth 180,

but i got lucky, and got 50 percent of it for free.

I would simply suggest that you,

everynow and then,

look around your shop to,

let's hope, find an aubaine*

* french word bande de ricain

haha solid advice.

But yeah, if you've never played before and you're not even sure you'll like playing guitar then there's nothing wrong with a sub $200 guitar. Almost everyone starts out on beginner gear. If you like it then you upgrade at some point in the future
