its only been a couple weeks into the season and ive already got horrible shin bang. i know the only cure for shin bang is to stop skiing but i was just wondering if any of you have tricks to help prevent/help shin bang cuz basically it sucks.

i had terrible shin bang last season and i bought these things i forget what there called but there blue thong things that velcrow your boot. most ski shops should have them.... they work

stand on the edge of step and do as many calf raises as you can. i try to do them whenever i have some time to kill because i get pretty bad shin bang and it helps mine alot.

i get massive shinbang in my left shin because its a half size smaller than my right foot. Anyway, got some nice shinbang from hiking jumps yesterday and it hurt like no other. So this morning i had a mousepad and decided to use it. I put it on my shin and took a sharpie to where i had my shin bang. Then i cut that part out with scizzors. Went up today, 12 inches pow. MM, no shinbang whatsoever. I'm using this the rest of the year. It works by putting pressure on everything else except the place your get shinbang. mousepads ftw

I sometimes get horrible shin bang in my left leg, it gets so bad sometimes that I can't even ski on it (this is coming from a kid who can dislocate his shoulder and pull it back in on his own). The best solution i found was to tighten my boots as much as possible. I have to get them so tight that i usually have to have a friend or someone in the lodge pull the buckles in. I havent had shin bang since i started doing that.

look into maybe getting a heel lift in ur boot it shuld raise ur heel and keep ur shin forward pressed on teh front of ur boot preventing it from slammin up on the fromt of the boot man...either do that or put them gel heel cups in the boot theyll to basicly the same thing...and STRETCH the muscles around ur shins shuld help a lil bit

massage your shins so you break up any bloodclots so you allow blood to flow to the area and ice so you give it a chance to heal. do calf raises that can help you too and walk on your heels around the house so you build some muscle around your tibia.

were they shin eliminators?

if so i use them and they help alot. they are meant to use up some of the space in between your shin and the tungue of the boot so that there is better control and less irritation and impact on your shin.

Damn man, tell me about it! Last year my shins got fucked right up

now i got Spk's and yesterday was the first day i got some bang, but damn, get some SPK's

Buckle the top buckles real tight... do the strap as tight as you can, get booster traps... oh, and stop landing backseat. I used to get shin bang a lot cause i'd land tricks backseat a lot... then i tore my acl... now i dont land backseat, now i dont get shin bang

all of you need the rossi sas fs1 boot. soooooooooooooooooooooooo much padding in the front. its got a rap around liner plus a tongue its basically shin bang proof.

Plain and simple your boots are too loose or you blow at skiing or both.

I see so many kids skiing around with their boots WAY too loose/big also.

i got it really bad last year, and the year before that. so i recently decided to invest in some FT Booters but i haven't skied on them yet... not until friday
but, what i've found helpful is massaging your shin then icing it. doing calf raises helps too, pretty much what Alex_G said and some other people. im just fuckin excited to use my new boots because ive heard they help prevent shinbang quite a bit

I was up at keystone yesterday and i got some really really bad shinbang. It hurt so bad. I could barely walk. So, i got home and sat down. Then, i used the searchbar. Problem solved.
