indeed an assault rifle is classified by what type of ammunition it fires and how many rounds it can carry in its clip assault rifle 25-45 a machine gun is usually a .50 caliber weapon and carrys 100+ rounds of ammunition and since most swat teams usually have m4s or mp5s you did not have a "machine gun" pointed at you and as for m249s and m60s those are automatic rifles i say this to aviod any arguement that will follow this statement

ha yeah I know we partially deserved it, but the only reason we did it was because my friends apartment was below the one getting raided and we were just concerned.
 
Agreed, to each his own. But no one has to be a doucher just cause I dont know about guns. I was just trying to share my eventful night to NS and see what people thought.

But the only reason I laughed at his usage, isn't because he used the correct term, it's the usage of machine gun. I honestly haven't heard that since I was 10 when I used to call all automatic weapons machine guns. I found it humorous, right about to the point everyone started cutting everyone's throats.

I had no clue. I guess I learned what really constituted as a machine gun at a fairly young age and assumed everyone knew it.

still a pretty big claim there. you know about swat weapons. big deal. its a pretty well known fact what works and what they use. you also dont seem to know much about guns, just what guns and accessories they use.
