Here is my demo reel, I would like to hear your thoughts, this thing took me hundreds of hours just gathering footage. Im glad I finally get to show you, so tell me what you think! thanks!

That was excellent! Only thing that bothered me was the opening shot of the girl. I thought it misrepresented how good your other stuff was, and first impressions are important so I'd look at moving that around if you're looking to change anything. If not, cheers!

Thanks for the comments!

Aboot the opening shot: what is it that you find makes it weak? If its the shakyness I could not agree more. I finally found the orrignal shot, graded it again and added a smooth camera effect. The shot now looks amazing, its exporting right now.

If its the out of focus beginning, I think people will realise it is fully intentional. The girl is in an unknown location, everything is blurry until she is slowly awoken by the shower. The intent had always been a dolly into focus. I also find it works well as an intro now that its smooth.

banger! what do you shoot with and how did you get gigs at habs and jays games? that'd be a dream job to shoot an nhl game

This is GOOD SHIT. Is this the updated version with the first shot and all that? Because I think it's one of the best shots of the reel.

It comes down to knowing the right people as usual. I also shot the juniors game between Canada and USA last month which was such a blast! More specifically though, what knowing the right people means: take as many offers as possible and give in return. I have started paying more attention to my contacts and trying to give back a bit which I guess makes me stand out and they think of me more for gigs.

Yah haha I forgot to mention I updated the video. I had a few people saying it was choppy and weak so I dug deeper in my stuff to find the original which I stablized and graded again. I'm glad I stuck to my guns even though people told me to take the shot out, I also think its one of my strongest shots. I'm glad you liked.

Rad, a bunch of different content. some of the cuts were rather weird and didnt feal right to the song though. overall was super stoked!

Really enjoyed it, solid work man! What were you shooting with at the Blue Jays game?

Thanks manm for those shots I had my fs700 with a canon 300mm f2.8 that we rented. My rig looked beastly!

Just watched the updated one. Yeah that fixed it. It's now a good opening shot haha.

Thoroughly enjoyed it! Felt a little bit long for a demo reel, I think you could have trimmed it down to the only really exceptional shots and it would have been even better. Super good work. I enjoyed the song a lot, too. On that note, don't be the douche who doesn't include song credits in their videos. The musician put a lot of hard work into creating that, and they deserve recognition, especially if you're accentuating your own work with theirs.
