I donated a small amount of money to NS a week or so ago using paypal and the address info@newschoolers.com and was hoping to get a little money sign and access to the donators forum, but no luck....help? Thanks
 
yeah i gave some left over money in my paypal, $8.01. to be honest, i wasnt really looking for anything, i just wanted to give to a site who expects nothing in return for my 3 hours of use per day! ahaha

i know im being all "look at me, i'm modest and don't expect anything in return for my deeds" but just wanted to say that.

also, i think you should have to donate like $25+ in order to get all the donator perks...
 
^ true, but gotta remember there are plenty of kids on the site that are unemployed and under 15 years old, so I guess $8 could somehow dent their wallet? No use discriminating about being a donator or not based on affordability. It's a site with a typical demographic between probably 13-19?

Any amount is wicked. We're going to start making it worth people's while too... like if you contribute $5 you get stickers without the hassle of a SASE and shit, they just show up. If you contribute $10 you get stix and a scarf. $20 gets stix/scarf/shirt... that kind of stuff. I mean sure you'll basically be buying stuff from us but I think everyone will be happier. Then if you buy stuff/contribute you still get your status and everyone knows that you're a supporter of the site.

And the demo thing is weird... I've been doing a huge amount of analysis of this lately. So like 13-19 is the demographic that posts shit on the site. They use the forums, upload photos, videos, chat, whatever.

However, that only represents like 20% of the traffic that comes to this site. The rest of people just come to read news, look at photos, watch videos and take in the insanity that are the forums here!

The demographic of people who just browse the site is older... like 21+ and it actually represents a pretty large amount of people. More than half of the people that visit this site once in a while are between 21 and 35.

NS is the second largest ski website on the internet. The only one bigger isn't in english www.ski.sk and is based out of europe.

Everyone likes to claim that their site is big, but we double the traffic of most of the other ski sites out there.

Hell NS is the 3rd largest winter sports website, with the gods that run www.skipass.com taking the lead. Those guys fucking kiiiiiiil it.

Gone are the days when NS was just a couple of park rats talking shit.

 
and when i said i have nothing, i was referring to a contributors sign.... i realize that stickers take a long time to come in the mail.

im not sure if it was an official NS scarf, but kaya has one in the tramp thuggin edit (posted by dane tudor). oh, and i donated $35, i wasn't gonna say anything, but it seems that bling happens when people do...that and hot girl thread, lol.
 
That's not fair! We're the original "contributor's" and now we're just going to be drowned by a whole bunch of noobs. Oh well, whatever benefits NS. And I have still yet to given a higher donator sign after I sent in money :(

How does it, NS Sold out to a large company where they get funded to run this website. And when people give money they are recieving shit. Just doesn't make sense at all. Any now people are getting signs for "buying" stuff doesn't make any sense. I feel shafted because i donated when it mattered not for shit.

If they are sold out, the majority of that money has to be given to the higher people (Studio 411). That is what I was told when I wanted to re-donate. So I am not sure how this is benefiting NS at all. Then people are getting access to the contributors forum for buying shit. MAKES NO FUCKING SENSE

meh i did the same thing last week to get bigger bling and by a 12 pack for the ns party but i didnt really know you were getting anything big, at max i thought i would get some sticks which i didnt get the first time i donated a long time ago.
 
i started to come on here a lot more this year so i wanted to donate but i was told i couldnt because they were bought and stuff so when i saw this i knew i was going to donate right away. but im not going to turn down some stickers and a scarf.
 
I vaguely remember a news article a couple years ago about NS becoming the largest skiing website on the internet. I just went to Alexa.com and compared NS, Skipass, and ski.sk and Newschoolers is definitely hangin with skipass and killing ski.sk (at least in the past 6 months). I'm not entirely sure what all the rankings they showed means but NS is certainly doing well.

i think its bullshit if you want "something to happen." i donated a few years ago and didn't get anything aside from this $ sign. I was like 16 years old and I gave $5 to a site that gave me a hell of a lot more than $5 of entertainment and information. if you donate something, you should just be content with what NS has given you. if you want something from NS, you should buy it and make a purchase. they're two different things. just give the people some money because they're sweet and give me something to do when i should be studying. don't give them something because you except some shit in return.

Give it some time. We shouldn't really be getting one but they are doing it because they are NS. And you know how awesome NS is. I'm still waitin on whatever's coming my way from like a week ago I think. So just don't worry, I'm sure they have more important things to do than give us scarves and donator symbols. Bishop or whoever will pull through in the end.
 
ahh about a week ago i was all ready to donate.. then i heard you couldnt anymore cause of studio 411. and that if you sent money you wouldnt get a sdonators sign.. and all that stuff.. but after reading this.. im gonna send some $ in
 
i donated like two weeks ago and i havent gotten my sign thing and my address is going to change here in two days... eh i guess i'll have to change it on my paypal.
