Oh my god. What makes you right as opposed to him? Neither of you have any concrete evidence.
You're acting like a stubborn old man. People got 'married' before christianity and any religion was born. Look at the historical records. It was a way of the male claiming what was his and establishing a family. It may have not been recogonized by a government but its happened before any governement existed.
