Ive been skiing for a couple years now but have just started freestyle skiing at the end of this season. I used some of my friends old line invaders that were really beat up. So for next season i want to get some new gear and get better at freestyle. Does any one have any tips for easy tricks to start off with, or tips on what gear to get?

for tricks, get used to riding switch well. you are gonna want to be able to carve down a groomer, and take off and land switch

first just do some 180s of little jumps on the side of runs. then, bring tthem into the park. progressively increase your bag of tricks when you think you should. when you can land a 1, go for a 3 and/or a switch 1. then keep progressing from there

and, your gonna want to get good at rails. learn easy, small flat boxes first. land forwards and switch. then, move to a small flat rail. move to harder/bigger rails/boxes when you think you should. pretzels, sw ups and spins on will come later.

as for gear, invaders are a great ski for a beginner park skier.

have fun mang

yeah just get some full tilts and make sure you can afterbang solidly. but in all seriousness just get used to being in the air, then do some 1s, learn to slide rails and you should be good. I live around no other skiers and i learned just by watching videos on youtube and shit so yeah

if you can make friends or ski with people who can give you on the hill feedback it will help a lot.

yeah definitely try to find people to ride with, if not, then watch a bunch of videos and really watch how they throw tricks and how its done

Just walk around resorts in Full Tilts, stop and afterbang every now and then, and people with THINK you're the shit. You'll get all the respect, without ever having to put on a pair of skis.

99% of your trick is in your takeoff. If something goes wrong, your takeoff can probably fix it. Make sure you're popping evenly off both feet and spinning after your feet have left the jump. Look up when landing switch, not down at your feet. If you want to grab make sure you have a huge pop first, then bring your feet up to you. Don't suck your feet up off the jump to get your grab.
