nah, it's a cold war project from the russians where they were training ostriches and other flightless birds such as kiwis, penguins and chickens in arctic warfare, many birds didn't survive the many years of brutal training in the mountains but some did and after the fall of the berlin wall and the iron curtain they were relieved of duty. Many couldn't adapt to this capitalistic society and shortly after release committed suicide. I guess this ostrich is one of the few ones to have survived this ordeal and properly adapt to this capitalistic western society ....
