I cannot even fathom 3 years from now...

Just watched David Wise throw the double cork in the pipe. I still remember watching comps from 6 and 7 years ago where the big air was Tanner throwing a switch 7 and pipe was candide, CR and others doing a flair, straight air, cork 9 for the win. I honestly can't comprehend where competition skiing will be in even three years. No real point to this thread except to get an 'amen' from the old farts around here who actually remember the first 1080s, JFs penciled switch 7 to win the first big air and people throwing 5s in the pipe as a sick trick.

ya, people who suck like me are totally boned! considering i can 270 off after 1 year of park im pretty much doomed to mediocrity

I cannot even fathom 3 weeks from now. What will I have for breakfast? How many times will I urinate? Will I be properly hydrated at the end of the day? THESE are the questions plaguing America!

no kidding. i remember seeing some of the old comps. but i suppose its like everything else; nobody thought a backflip on a dirtbike was possible - now they are doing doubles.

craziness indeed.

the largest you can go on my ice jumps is a 720, its such hard ice you dont want to try stuff cause if you spin off axis and fall you will shatter a bone entirely.

loads of fun, ever been on a chair lift where the ride up is 3 times as long as the ride down? its a whole new element to skiing

it really has gotten so insane but i think the way its gonna go is that at a certain point skiers are going to start to focus on getting more steezy and smooth like Wallisch

whats really crazy is how rails have progressed. ive never been able to cork 9 in the pipe, but take any movie from like 7 years ago and i can do all the rails. nowadays its just so gnarly

I was actually just thinking about that from watching the Refresh teaser.... 7 years ago people would have been absolutely blown away by the tech on urbans in Refresh or Everyday is a Saturday. And I completely agree with the op.
