dope, i guess they realize that cop is the freaking core spot for calgary, we are so lucky to have such a sick place so close. they do a great job with the park and that would be sick if they made it even bigger! but it doesn't make sense that they'd give the park more room...it has its own section of the hill and i doubt they would put stuff on the skiers left of the chair too...but that would be sick

yeah so I just phoned and they had no idea about this 'terrain park expansion'. Sorry players maybe the guy didn't know what was going down, but according to the people there. The park ain't changin.

maybe the guys incharge of the park know, but just the peps at the front desk dont really know to much, cause about 3 weeks ago i asked a guy how long it would be till the high speed 4 was up and he said like another 2-3 months and here we are 3 weeks later and the quah is up, now all they have to do is thrown the chairs on and test it and they will be good to go

Last year, and this may be a small part of the reason why there is now a quad chair, I got quite pissed off at COP and their dumb T-bar line. Then only reason there was a line is because they felt they didnt need have the triple going. So I went in to the customer desk and the first thing I said, and not overly rude was 'Is there any reason why the triple chair isnt going?' However, since all the workers there really know whats going on, her reply was 'we dont have a triple chair.' I guess she had never bothered to look up the hill yet. Anyway, after a bit of convincing that they did indeed have a triple, she got the manager, and he told me to send him an email about what I felt was wrong and he would bring it up at the board meeting. Interestingly enough, a few days later the hours of operation for the triple were extended. Anyway, my point is, no one there really seems to know what is actually going on.

last year there were about 7 of us going off those little jumps by the pipe and my buddy on his snowboard landed on a little kid, those kids just get in the way.

according to the winter program guide the just sent out they are gonna have the triple running to the top of the park, and the highspeed running to the top of the hill

k i come to impart knowledge, at the last meeting we were told that the mini park that was at the top last year will be linked into the park by where the t-bar used to be, there will be an exit there for kiddies, and an exit at the bottom, only 1 enterance at the top though. There will be only the quad chair, no t-bar, no triple, for the beginners there is another magic carpet in the middle of the hill going to about where the half way was on the t-bar, does that help anyone?

park will be slightly wider as it goes to where the t-bar used to be as for the set up it is still being decided in another meeting with some of the snow school freestyle guys

If you have any say, or know of the appropriate email I'll tell em myself, tell them to make the jumps different. No more superkickers where you go real high, but not far, and drop like a rock. I know they dont have much length to work with, but they definetly need to lengthen the tables and mellow em a bit.

we should all write to cop with our suggestions, heres an example of what i wrote,:
Hi, i have been a pass holder at COP for the past few years and upon hearing that you plan on expanding the terrain park for this year, me and my friends had some suggestions. We would all like too see some nice jumps( 45-60 feet long) similar to the proline at louise if possible. I know that you dont have a big amount of area to work with but I am sure that a line of 3 good sized kickers would be possible. also we were thinking that a better variety of rials would be a good investment, suck as kink and c boxes, and s and multi kink rails.

i liked how one side of pipe was for the beginners and the other side was visibly bigger and for more experienced riders because the thing that i hate the most in all terrain parks is when you get cut off by the groms or there are some 12 year old snowboarders or racers on the landing of the jumps. I bet if you but a fence up top to get in to the terrain park it would deter the beginers from coming in and screwing over the regulars.
