June 20 : Chill on the Hill

The thrill of winter. The fun of summer.

Forecasting snow: NESTEA Chill on the Hill dares to defy Mother Nature by throwing the ultimate party by bringing winter and summer together – for free!

In addition to skiing and boarding, event-goers can hang with pro athletes and attend workshops led by Canadian boarding pro and Olympian, Justin Lamoureux and the first and reigning Olympic Gold Medalist in Snowboardcross (SBX) at the 2006 Olympics, Seth Wescott, from the United States.

Canadians can then turn their outdoor appetite from the thrill of the quarter pipe to the hot vibes of the beach and hit the sand for a game of volleyball or Frisbee, or hang poolside and take in the scenery.

No party is complete without great music

After a great day of sun, snow and sand, guests can end the day by rocking out to Montreal's own Sam Roberts Band at Mont Tremblant. Bringing snow to the summer is a refreshing possibility that NESTEA® Chill on the Hill is making a reality.

Using 300 lb blocks of ice, the blocks will be chipped in to very fine flakes to create snow. The snowmaking process will take approximately two days and will cover the Equilibre hill at Mont Tremblant and create a railslide and quarter pipe snow park.

Schedule of the day

10am to 6pm

  • Hill side: Rail & Quarterpipe
  • Chill side : Sand, beach volleyball and two pool
  • DJ set
  • InteractiviTEA Lounge

1pm to 3pm

  • Workshops led by Justin Lamoureux and Seth Wescott

7pm

  • Sam Roberts Band (free concert)

apparently this sucked? like 3 boxes, longest one was like 7 feet and like a gazillion people trying to hit them

Mammoth was still solid last weekend. Could have stayed open later, but they had to close. Spring park wasn't bad. Okay box and rail was only 15ft. Two good jumps though, 22ft. wall pipe. Wish there was no pipe and just more boxes and rails with a bigger jump line. Not bad for Mid June though.

Hahaha,

Actually, you are all lucky you didn't bother coming...it was BUSH LEAGUE! Pure BUSH LEAGUE!!!

I mean don't get me wrong, east coast skiing in June, FOR FREE is pretty baller, so I won't rip on it too hard but:

Should have read:

"We at Nestea are trying to do something awesome, but are not down with either the snowboard or ski industry so we'll be rude and have no clue what to do or how to operate the event. You can wait in line for half the day cause you can't hike, only take the ramp up 10 at a time every 20 min or so. Eventually, we won't have enough security to try to stop you from hiking in an organized fashion and just let you do it. We will be dumping a bunch of Slush Puppy ice over a 25 x 50ft area, but not before covering the ground in cotton slabs so you can't see the rocks you'll smash into. The railslide section of the course will be a bigger (3.5ft high 20sih ft box) and a super low long box and a mini long rainbow rail. We'll set them up in a triangle, so after you spin off of one of the boxes and are trying to navigate over rocks and cotton you can trip on the rainbow that's right in your way. If that doesn't sound fun enough for you, then you can wait forever in the drop in area, then straightline the 50ft into a 6ft tall mogul jump onto a giant air bag like they had at Camp of Champions only here, you can barely get enough speed to get onto the bag at all, which is soaking wet, and throws you off it in some random direction to the ground below."

Schedule of the day

10am to 6pm

  • Hill side: Rail & Mogul jump (if you can make it to it)
  • Chill side : Sand, the most crooked beach volleyball court ever (yeah we're setting it up across the fall line, so all the tall people play on the downhill side) and two pools (which we're setting up no where near any of the other areas, so it will just look like two random pools away from everything).
  • DJ set (Just kidding, we're just going to play obnoxious Techno all day over the speakers)
  • InteractiviTEA Lounge
  • No Natasha Richardsons!!! (Too soon?)

1pm to 3pm

  • Workshops led by Justin Lamoureux and Seth Wescott (Who won't actually do this, cause the set up is so Bush League, they will just watch, laugh, conduct interviews and talk to hot chicks).
  • SEE YOU THERE!!! (But only if you heard about it on Facebook, or the radio, cause "we spent our entire advertising budget throwing this party, so tell your friends")

HAHA. Actually it was a super duper wicked idea, and I wish them the best of luck at the next one in Glen Eden...I just hope they learned from their mistakes, cause this was one of the biggest let downs since Phil B busted his knee at the XGames Pipe finals.

Way to break it down so I didn't feel guilty about skipping out on it this weekend.
No 1/4 was to be had? lolz

yeah Yeti is pretty dead on with his description. But whatever it was still fun, I had a good time, and sam roberts was fun too...so were all the free nesteas haha

ya it was alright for the east coast they had a 12 ft box a smaller box a dinky rainbow and a little jump to bag jump, and some stupid snowboarders who dont understnad the concept of a line

i guess il be at the glen eden one. Its a really small hill in a really small town so i doubt there will be alot of people. Havnt heard it advertised at all either. It will be great to be on snow one last time before winter.
