Hyland

So i just moved back from CO and am now going to school at the UofM and i was wondering about hyland and buck. I used to race FIS back in high school....so 4 years ago, and i was at hyland or buck everyday, but never really payed attention to the park. After a few years of schralping pow and park out west I was wondering what the conditions are like at hyland and buck.

I know there's going to be huge holes in the landings and such, but is there a prime time of day to go? Is the morning too icy and hard? but then i suspect after 3pm its get pretty rutted out, so is mid day the best? Is hyland better than buck? I know hyland is crowded as shit, but is it worth it? I here buck has some 10$ thing on sundays, how's their park?

Either way im not going to buy a $350 pass when they cost that much for 2-5mountains out west. So i plan on lapping the rope the whole time. Ive heard its legit, you just have to watch out for security man every once and a while. Is this legit?

Sorry bout all the ?'s, just tryin to get into the know of mn park. Also ive seen no sign of any sort of skier at the U so far. Or does everyone just go to normandale and duluth

Thanks

hyland's better IMO. there's definitely more skiers there than there are at buck. i like to get to hyland within half an hour of opening then ski til 1 or 2. it starts to get rutted out pretty quickly after that (on weekends). try to go on weekdays if you're able to

a couple of us go to the U. but deffiently go to hyland, its way better than buck. weekends sometimes get real crowded but its still real fun. best time is mon-thurs untill 3pm, no one is there.
