Hyland not opening Friday the 4th

Signed up for a lesson this weekend and worried about the lack of

snow? No problem. We're making snow and will be open for lessons

starting Friday, December 4. At this point Hyland Ski and Snowboard

Area will be open for lessons only. Opening soon to the public - check

back for updates.

does hyland even plan on opening for the 2009-2010 season? I'm starting to think not
 
My mindset was if hyland opens this weekend i will get to ski there but not summit on saturday because i have to teach but i was thinking If they don't open i don't have to teach and can go to summit. Now I can;t do either.
 
i know right? i was stoked for saturday morning, weathers gonna be nice too....who the hell is going to be like, "you know what, im going to take my son to ski lessons today!" on a friday? bastards

so what does this mean? will they not be open to the public all weekend? or will it be some day next week? or next weekend? i even have all 380$ saved up for a goddamn pass.
 
Correct. Theres tons of lessons scheduled for this weekend and they already cancelled lessons for this week. The reason they're not opening to the public is that they don't have enough snow made. BUt i just don't get how they can't make enough. They pumped over a million dollars into a new pumping system and they aren't using it. The forecast looks great for snowmaking too,
 
i understand why they need to open for ski school, but i don't understand why they can't open to everyone by friday/saturday
 
There actually is a chance of hyland opening this weekend to the public lets just hope they can blow enough snow by then. but it looks good they'll be able to blow wed night and all day thursday and probs friday so lookin good just hope for the best.
 
Glad I just read this. We were planning to go Friday when school got out. The temps are suppose to drop for the rest of the week, so hopefully they will make enough snow to open it up for everyone!! I'll cross my fingers, and say some prayers:)
 
na no hope of opening to public hylands only makemoney rich conceeded bitch ass will just be doing lessons all weekend i called yesterday and the lady said even if they blow enough snow she doesnt think they will open to public
 
lolz...

i work for the park district, and its useless to try and understand some of the decisions made by them.

"only at the park" these four words say everything you need to about the park...

although i can see how their decision could be a good one from their perspective, just not the general publics.

Hyland will open to the public for the season on Saturday December 5th.

We are offering a $20 ticket on Saturday and Sunday, and we will have

reduced hours to facilitate snowmaking. If you have lessons this

Friday, Saturday or Sunday they will go on as scheduled.

Hours This Weekend:

Friday Dec 4th: Closed to the public, open for lessons only.

Saturday Dec 5th: 9am-6pm

Sunday Dec 6th: 9am-6pm

We will be open regular hours thereafte
