Look out Afton Alps, you've got big competition! Boasting a whopping 175ft vertical, 3 chairlifts, more ice than Antarctica, and the only shuttle access parking lot in the Twin Cities area. Hyland Ski and Snowboard Area has decided to yet again establish their dominance as the premiere ski and snowboard destination of the midwest with the addition of their higher ticket prices and especially new Pay Parking lot.

I believe that it is truly a revolution in the midwest skiing scene to be able to pay for unnecessary services to feel like you took a trip out west without having to take time off of work take a trip out west or risking your life on those darn black diamonds that your kids accidentally ski down

But if you want my honest opinion, the new chalet smells like a hospital and this is the epitome of bullshit. I feel like the management at Hyland doesn't care one bit about their dedicated riders. They just want to suck money off of families that don't know any better. I'm taking myself and money to Elm Creek.
 
I wonder if the idiot author of this post realizes that Elm Creek and Hyland are BOTH run by Three Rivers Park District. Your money goes to the same place NEWB. Also, I bet you prefer the dark, cramped, foot-smell of the old chalet instead of the new huge windows, waaaay better kitchen area and overall better everything at the new chalet.

The new chalet smells like a hospital and the food is literally the exact same as it was before. The old chalet was pretty tight to be honest. I know that the two places are run by the same park board but elm is a place where you won't have to put up with the extra crap for essentially the same caliber park minus a big jump.

I enjoy elm's park 19834750934x more than hyland's. And never have I ever had to park in their shuttle lot.

You haven't skied elm enough or with the right group of people. Hyland is definitely fun but it's been slowly going to hell.

Allen, your time has come and gone. You might aswell log out and fuck off if you wanna come to hyland fuckin twice a year to talk about mountain biking. The fact that you're even giving input really pisses me off. What the FUCK does it matter to you if you don't fuckin ski? Don't walk around big and tall like you USED to be. You might aswell go live under a rock at spirit and wait until summer rolls around.

Granite Peak's day tickets are creeping up to the $80 range. I wouldn't be surprised if GP starts charging for parking too.

Bad deal for Line, yes. They definitely need to find someone new who is involved with the sport, has a positive attitude, and actually has influence in the community. His post about "quitting" and the fact that he's cussing out kids on public forums is pathetic. How old is this guy?

Pretty hard to translate into a formal conversation. Regardless of whether or not you 'wanted' to have a normal name, it doesn't change the fact that you're a total dick, who is holding on to skiing by a thin string, managing to be line's shittiest region representative. You don't have ground to stand on when it comes to giving input on these situations. Like I said earlier, don't bother with skiing and the community if you don't give two shits about it anymore. Odds are you'll end up indifferent about mountain biking and move onto the next thing.

No way!!! I am very stoked for you!!! A little Petey Jr.... That is awesome! Duluth is excellent. Life has been very good; my childens are all good stuff. They are all super stoked on skiing this winter!
