Hurt Teammate with a Neckbrace

Hey Newschoolers, my teammate Sam fell during a snowstorm and sprained his neck and is in a neck brace. He is not in the best of financial places and may not be able to afford textbooks for this upcoming semester if he doesn't get this medical bill paid. If you could donate a few bucks or just share the link it would be unbelievably helpful, especially in the season of giving. Thank you so much, +K to all of you.

What kind of program is Sam in? and what kind of debt load does he have already?

The deets are scant. If you want my chedda you best explain yourself... Pics of the neck brace and medical bill.

Before it was socially acceptable to ask strangers for hand outs, we just hardened the fuck up and worked.

Agreed on all counts with the above poster. Student loans will pay for textbooks, food, and more. They are the easiest loans one can get...have your friend take them. This is a time when he needs a loan, not a charity. If he can afford to go to college and can afford to ski, odds are good he can make it through a minor setback.

He is a Senior in an honors track for the government major at Colby. He is on track to graduate on time. He does not ski though, although he runs Cross Country and Track with me. Another loan piled on top of what debt he has accumulated over the first 7 semesters of college just isn't realistic at this point. If you are not willing to donate, please just give it a share!

Far too many unanswered questions here for me to part with my hard-earned money or "share" and ask others to do the same. I'm guessing Sam is 20 or 21. This means he should be on his parents' health insurance, or if they do not have health insurance, then his university's health insurance. No undergraduate student is permitted to be enrolled in classes without health insurance. Health insurance should cover a neck brace and any associated x-rays, therapy, etc.

How much were these theoretical medical bills? You say that due to him being an out-of-state student they are higher...this makes zero sense. All I see is you trying to raise $550, a high school cross country pic, and no facts, proof, or proof of need for Sam.

Again, I'm very sorry that an individual took a fall and got injured. That sucks.

Fuck your friend, I'm glad his next is broken the kid is a lying asshole. Colby College has a need blind financial aid policy, the school will cover his textbook bills. That piece of shit is y nobody donates to charity. The kid is looking for drug money

What a fucking SCAM. Get a fucking job

this asshole doesnt even exist.

So the mother fucker broke his neck and he is worried about textbook bills???

I am in grad school and still have never paid more than $200 for textbooks during a semester

Tell Sam to watch his back bcuz I'll personally beat his ass

Total scam.

Colby college website says, and I quote

" we have given every admitted student the chance to graduate without loans to repay"

OP has some explaining to do.

1, health insurance paid some of the bill not all, he is from Massachusetts so the bill was higher and did not cover everything. Medical bills in Maine are cheaper for people who are in state than those out of state.

2. That is a college cross country pic, the jersey is a white jersey with a blue mule holding a colby pennant on it, they are our alternate uniforms.

3. Colby says that to look good. They look at your parents income and if they make 65,000 a year, they say great, that's how much colby costs, so you could pay the full thing without loans. They don't take any responsibility for the loans you actually have to take out though.

I understand that you guys are doubting and pictures of the bill and the neckbrace are coming soon.

Eh, I averaged around $500/semester for books and they were all used. I'd resell them(some I kept) at the end so I'd only be out a few hundred.

That said, OP needs to get a loan.

My work was already done. Well I could go on the page and get banned again but there are other more pressing issues.

Some couple is adopting a baby from Africa or somewhere and needs 15,000 because they didn't budget for it and everyone else should pay for them to import a kid when there are a ton of kids needing families in the states.

It is kind of fun getting banned from that website though. Also getting hate mail from people.

Anybody remember that gaper kid that wanted 10k to build a tiny house with a wallride on the side? I called him out and the few friends he had were blowing up my facebook. It was awesome.

What as soon as you can go pick up a neck brace and make up a fake bill? What a joke

Why haven't any of his "real life" friends donated? Why didn't you donate?

Bcuz it's BULLSHIT! Why hasn't any of the kids family or extended family or family friends given money? Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, grandparents, Doesn't this little asshole know anyone?
