Huge Pickups for Level 1

One of the things that make level 1 the leader of ski movies in our community is their amazing eye for talent. This year , they made huge additions to their crew, which made Sunny an instant hit classic.

This year they picked up:

LJ Strenio

Tim McChesney

Torin YW

Eric Pollard

Lucas SM

They also gave up and comers Pat Goodnough and Spencer Milboker some great shots.

Each of these riders bring a unique element to level 1's crew , making the level 1 team stronger then ever. I think Level 1 is right, the future is very , very bright.

What do you think of the Level 1 team's pickups this year? Is there crew getting too big? Who do you hope gets a full segment in next years movie? Early predictions for new pickups and super unknown candidates?
 
i think this is part of the reason why i liked sunny better than any other movie this year. It was diverse in the locations and styles of skiing... from urban to BC jumps, to park etc. But at the same time they kept a solid "crew" feel. You saw logan imlach skiing urban with chris logan, then chris logan stomping shit with wiley. same thing with hornbeck crushing urban with wallisch and bellemare, then going and ripping pow w/ rainville. everything transitioned well with their crew, and I actually believe that these people do in fact LIKE skiing together and it's not just sponsor obligations. and call pat goodnough an "up and comer" is disrespectful. dude's been at it for years... absolutely crushing it.
 
haha dude dont get me wrong, both milboker and and goodnough are amazing and way better then me. I just meant up and comers for the level 1 crew
 
Why Sig got one shot (possibly my favorite of the movie) and not an entire segment is beyond me. Instead I get to watch Imlauch -no offense to him- eat breakfast for a minute.
 
i didnt really notice that until now. but that is very odd. the superunknown guys in the past 2 or 3 years really havent had big presences in the last few level 1 flicks
 
Well Logan was a superunknown winner and he had in my opinion some of the best shots of the movies, clearly its different strokes...

That said I can't see how anyone wouldn't want a full segment from LSM! You hear Level 1... LSM full segment please!

 
Yea their crew is tight and extends past just who shows up in their films. They've got world class skiers for pipe, park, urban, BC, and big mountain. Eric Pollard's surprise segment was one of my favorite parts of the movie, and they even had a shot of JP Auclair! You never really know what you're going to get year to year because some people get injured or have lots of scheduling conflicts (Delorme this year), but you know they'll be back at it the next year. This widespread crew vibe coupled with Berman and co's excellent creative vision is why I purchase their flicks every year.
 
Was definitely cool to see pat Goodeniugh get a few shots, I watched him win the AM comp at war of rails, guy is crazy and definitely deserved it. Stoked to see more (hopefully) of him in upcoming level movies
 
sig had a few shots. park shoots and urban, and they were pretty sick. However, when he's skiing urban with wesson, i'm sure it's hard to stand out.
 
Umm, sig had more then 1 shot? he has at least 4 in sunny that i can think of. but I agree I would like to see more of his extra smooth style
 
Are you blind!!!??? Logans seggy was so sick and had two of the best bangers in the movie, (ski slide to 4 out, massive double elbow rail) Sig also had a few sick shots too, not just one, more of a cameo in the finland part and shots in the sun valley and breck parts, so he had a decent amount of screen time too.
 
pretty sure he was referring to the fact that there was a few minutes of non-skiing set up to logan's part while sig barely got any coverage, not making a comment on the radness of logan's skiing.
 
K. He has 4 shots, 3 urban and the Sun Valley feature. Kids have never seen an hyperbolism before. The point is I believe he deserved a lot more.
 
Ya he does. and to be honest, im sure he actually DOES have shots that were left on the cutting room floor. Usually I dont like long movies, but Sunny was so exciting I wish they included more shots and made it 15 mins longer. Especially with Turkey, Breck and Sun Valley .
 
Yes. he filmed with poor boyz for a few years and still appeared in traveling circus episodes.
 
god Pollard's seg came as a surprise in a level 1 movie, what's even more of a surprise is that a guy who's almost or is 30 (?) laid down the illest seg in arguably the best movie of the year. he killlllled it show some love
 
Well the gramatical rule for a/an is phonetic not orthographical. I hesitated between the two and sided with 'an' in this case because it sounded better aesthetically.. The two vowel-sounds only separated by an almost inaudible 'h' is too redundant, plus for a noun I find 'an' distinguishes it more.

Either way, find something better to do with your time.
 
You ever think that sig didn't shoot with level 1 every much and didnt get as many shots as logan and others? its not like logans segment causes sig to get less shots, your statement is extremely ignorant, you have no idea how much a certain athlete shot with a certain film group. l1p was in alaska for awhile so yeah logan got more screen time because he filmed with them more. Complaining about watching logan make breakfast is fucking annoying, it added to his segment, its call personality. It also went long with the song very well too, so I dont get why the hell you're complaining.
 
Pollards footage was all shot/from nimbus. We will see everyone of those shots again in up coming en route episodes. Its not like he just got picked up by them and will be putting out segments from now on...
 
definetely wouldve liked to see some of the other riders get segments too. But the movie was fucking good Sig and Stal did some really really dope stuff.

In the future i predict they will pick up Ware & Dale and theyd be stupid not to. I really wish they picked up Holson too. It also seems like L1P would be all over trying to get the STEPT kids in their movie instead of PBP ( Those guys just seem like such a better for L1 than PBP) But oh well. You can only have so many urban riders ha
 
False. Pollard called up Berman and suggested they work together over the winter. The shots were from an early pow trip to BC I think and then a bunch from Hood late in the season. Berman was specific in that he didn't just want a Nimbus segment within the bigger movie. All the shots were done by Level 1.

God you get so worked up over this stuff.

I'm sure Sig filmed less than Logan, that doesn't mean they couldn't have put more of Sig's shots in. And the relationship between Logan's breakfast shots and Sig's segment isn't causal, but I would rather have watched a minute of Sig than a minute of eggs and coffee. I don't care how quaint Logan's lifestyle is, I paid for bangers.
 
Evan has a good point, without knowing what was left on the cutting room floor, there's no reason to have rustled jimmies. Sig still got a presence in the level 1 movie, not a bad deal for winning an online contest.
 
it was a 14 second interlude between the whittier building and the rest of my segment.

i'll make sure to tell josh that you hated it though, and that we need to cut the movie down to a 15 minute edit of bangers and not show you any insight into anything else that we do.

i get it man, you've made it clear that you dont like my part and don't like my skiing in multiple threads. but the thing is, i don't give a fuck what you think.
 
You will tell Berman no such thing, I enjoyed the editing of your segment a lot, pretty original, both the song and the editing, skiing, everything about it was pretty fresh.

I was also intriqued by your coffee maker thing.
 
If Sig filmed less than Logan, then how are they going to put more shots of Sig in? Getting a shot that you can put in a top level ski flick is not easy for anyone, and it takes a lot of time. If Sig didn't film as much, he won't get as many shots in the movie.

Blindside needs to stop trying to argue his bullshit point. You make it sound like you know for certain that Sig had as many film worthy shots as Logan, and that L1 just chose not to put them in. You don't know this, and by all probability he didn't. Your argument is bad, and you should feel bad.
 
fuck man, i'll even agree with the kid that i would LOVE to see more of sig. he had two of my favorite shots in the movie. he just didn't get that many opportunities to film last year because he's all the way over in scandanavia.
 
i said it before and ill say it again. breakfast efficiency. more efficient breakfast= more time to ski= more ski shots..

It sucks Sig didnt get more shots in the movie but why attack Logan specifically? Its not like making breakfast was the only lifestyle shot of the movie.
 
Au contraire. All the Hood and BC heli content was from Level 1 trips/shoots. And don't be surprised if Mr Pollard makes more appearances in future Level 1 flicks...
