How to upload a micro SD card to a mac

long story short...bought an action cam and doing some testing around my house with it.

I have the adapter so I can plug it into my mac. When I put the little card into my mac it says the "disk is unreadable"...

Anyone know how to fix this? My computer is kinda old...bought it in 2010 so perhaps its a software issue but doesn't really seem right.
 
Buy the little adapter that the micro sd slides into so you can then put it directly into the card reader on the mbp

Ya that's the problem I'm having right now. My Mac software is to old to format the disk apparently so I'm going to try to do it on a PC at work

My mac is from 2010 as well and i can format sd cards and external hard drives. Did you try googling how to format an sd card for mac?

Yea. It's the 64 gb card and you need to erase it and re format it in ex-fat format (whatever that means). Which can only be done on software version 10.6.6 or later. I have 10.5.8 so it won't work which is really annoying. Such BS from Apple

Yeah blame Apple for not going backwards compatible in being able to write a Microsoft file system.
 
instead of putting it into the card reader, try buying a usb adapter and maybe it will read it as a flash drive
 
When you bought your micro SD it should've come with something that looks like a regular SD that you put the micro inside to have it fit into your computer.

Yea I have that. It fits fine. The problem is I need to reformat my card for macs...but can't because the software is to old. Going to stop by an apple store after work and see if they can do it.

Also curious...if I plug the cord directly into the camera with the usb into the computer will that work? I'm a POV camera noob so just curious
