How to switch up your gym workouts!

This guy is a PT i do training classes with sometimes.... he's a fucking nutter.... ex-bosnian Special Forces (which essentially makes him harder than a coffin nail).... Samir Becic.

But, really nice dude. He's also one of the top trainers in the states apparently.. but anyway, he doesn't believe in lifting weights as it's far to detached from real life, he just does all crazy body weight shit etc like this... I do a boot camp with him x3 times a week and it's insane, and never boring!

this is also one way to probably make a massive idiot of yourself in a gym in front of hot chicks...!!

threads. im moving soon and im not about to take weights with me, so some weightless workouts would be awesome

thanks

Yeah their workouts are mostly legs actually-it's brutal! Squat thrust jumps-do 20, then do squats jumps on a 1,2,3,4 ,5 count-on the last one stay in the squat and hold for 10 seconds-repeat 5 times.... Etc!!

He's literally the hardest person I've ever met-being ex Bosnian special forces too, you know he's killed people with great ease! But seriously he's the nicest guy , and so enthusiastic-it's like he's had 24 red bulls everytime you meet him! His training philosophy is so right though!

that guy has clearly been doing that for years, and he still looked ridiculous doing it. I'm sure its a crazy good workout, but I'll stick to weights and cardio.

That's the thing-the point is simply this, if you trip over in the street you don't fall in to a perfect lunge. Your body isn't built to have biits isolated.... It all works together-and that is all he sets how to demonstrate. A bench press is really 100% useless.

Yea after watching another interview I realized what its really about, I like the idea and probably going to implement parts of it.

haha. a bench press is not useless. Of course there are ways to make traditional push ups harder, but if you want to isolate the chest and build strength in your chest and shoulders, bench is pretty damn useful.

I cant believe he almost completely left out chin ups. lots of different chin up variations fuckin work you. I usually dont even touch lat machines. jump squats are key as well.

Id like to see someone try that hallway climb and miss the studs.

I laughed most of the way through at the thought of seeing someone attempting this( including sound effects) in a gym full of people. After so much laughing that in itself was a good abs workout!

ha - I know, of course it's not - this guy's message is just that it's better to do compound exercises like these that recruit as many muscle groups as possible all at once. That's how your body evolved to work etc...

his philosophy reminds me of one of my friends. he doesnt work out at a gym, but whenever hes out he finds random things to start working out on, kinda like what this guy was doing on the handrails at the end, its pretty funny. he'll like walk by a relatively small light post and start doing chin ups on it and shit. he calls it "test your body" ahahaha

You dont get strong doing what he is doing, you get in good shape. It takes years to get strong, and weeks to get in good shape. Overall, this is a pretty meh workout IMO. It would certainly not work very well for me and my goals.

It all depends what your fitness goals are though, so as long as you like it and it works for your, its awesome!
