pipe cutters are key for cutting poles. makes it so much easier. i personally have never cut my poles without one.

1 boil handle for a while

2 open a door, stick the handle in the door, close the door.

3 PUUUUUULLLLLLLLLLLLL!

4 Hacksaw!

5 slide the grip back on, heating if necessary

sure they are easier, but im sure a lot more people have hacksaw's sitting around at there house. I personally use a hacksaw, and just use my sander and sand around the rough edges the saw made

if someone really needs instructions on how to "shorten" their ski poles, they probably shouldnt be "shortening" their poles in the first place....

why does everyone hate on hack saws??? everyone has one, they cut in like 5 seconds, u can esily use a file on the rough edges. not that it would matter because ur hand osnt coming in contact with the metal u cut because its in the grip!
