How to sharpen extremely dull edges?

I have skis with about 200 days skied and never sharpened. I tried sharpening them for like 1-2 hours with shop grade tools and that hardly made a difference, they are still extremely dull. Is there anything I can do to make them at least kind of sharp again? Thanks +k

just bring it to a good shop, spend the 30 dollars and let it be their problem itll be a lot easier than dicking around with it for a ton of time

I work at a shop, I used the tools at the shop I work at, asked a coworker for suggestions. Took them to a different shop last spring (I didn't work at a shop at the time) and was told I should spend an hour sharpening them by hand with a file.

I'm wondering if maybe some shops have something better than the standard hand tools (files and file guides). The shop I work at doesn't.

Thanks for the suggestion though

If you ski park and hit rails do not sharpen under foot or your gonna have a bad day

I don't ski park. Mostly off-piste (which is why I went so long without sharpening), sometimes groomers.

Most shops have a wet belt sander, quickest and easiest way to do it. A tuning machine can also be set to do however many passes you want and is way faster than hand (not always the best results, but it is fast). If you can't find either of these (if you can't you must live in butt-fuck nowhere) you could always just use a handheld belt sander to start and finish your angles by hand, just protect your eyes and lungs and be sure to do smooth passes or you'll get some magne-traction bs going on.
