How to remove boot stank

I let my boots dry after riding on a heater, but the issue is that they already smell really bad. Any ideas on how to get rid of that foot smell?

inb4 get full tilts

get those sneaker balls! they're plastic and got some sort or odor killin stuff in them. its what i use and they work great!

DON'T get Full Tilts. Definitely the worst smelling boot I've ever owned. I put the liners in my freezer for 3 days during the summer and they still smelt like shit afterwards...

That being said put your liners in the freezer (put them in a bag so the stank doesn't destroy all your goodies). This kills the bacteria causing the stank in theory

Yeah I had never has boot stank problems until I got full tilts. mine dont smell awful yet, but my friend's booters smell rank.

Once the smell is in there, it's pretty tough to get out. The best thing you can do is to pull your liners and put them next to the heater every time you go skiing. Every time. If you do this from the beginning, your liners won't smell nearly as bad. Even when you think the liners couldn't possibly be wet, your feet sweat and the liners will be a little damp, which builds up into the funk you have now. Full tilt liners get particularly wet due to the tongue design so the problem is worse.

I had some super stinky boots last season and got the smell out here's what you do. Stuff the toes with dryer sheets unscented works best because fighting bad scent with good scent just creates a weird bad mix. The sheets themselves will deodorize them. Then fill up two ziploc bags full of baking soda. like full so you can sit them up on their own. Sit the bags in the boots, open the ziploc section nice and wide and let them sit for however long until next use. They should be odorless now.
But If they still smell put dryer sheets in again and take baking soda and actually put it into the boots, like a healthy amount, then vacuum it out when you wanna use them again. This should do it.

Not 100% on this theory but im pretty sure that heat kills bacteria not cold, cold just stops bacteria from growing.

going to try this tomorrow lol i have been using scented ones in my boots here and there because i bought them to make a sploof hah.weird smell for sure if you use em often +k

By the end of last season my full tilt liners smelt like death. I stuffed them with newspaper and tossed them in the freezer for about a week. It worked wonders.

I've had the same fulltilts for 3 years now and they don't smell bad at all, when your done skiing put news paper in em to remove the moisture then take then take the liner out of the shell and let air dry after the news paper sits for a few hours, once dry put baking soda in the boot and let sit the just dump out as much excess as possible. Ice walked threw swamp mud with the liners after falling into a frozen pond and they smelt like some gnarly pussy but I just washed them with soap and warm water and that did wonders and now they ate basicly odorless

Freezing doesn't kill the bacteria it just slows stops mitosis from occurring so the cells can't divide. the reason your boots smelled later was because as soon at the bacteria thawed out they started doing their thing again.

I stick a drier sheet in each boot, then just take em out and stick em in my shoes when i go skiing. Its cheap, and works decently well. Like eheath said, clean socks is a simple solution, also just taking out your liners every night and letting them dry out fully helps.

I agree, its a constant struggle tho.

Febreze works great ! dunno if you guys have this in the US ....

also, as mentioned, clean socks and dry storage works best to keep em stank-free

Odor-eaters spray. Costs $4 and kills bacteria AND fungas which is likely where your funk is coming from.

take a bucket and put fill it with water and soap(i use the same soap as the one for my washing machine). put your boots in the bucket with some weight over them. keep them in the bucket for 24h and then dry them with a fan or whatever you want. the smells 100% gone. i do it every months or so and my boots smell pretty good(i also put dry sheet inside them everytime i dry them after skiing.

this.

what sucks is that one hungover lazy day when you forgot to do wash and all you have is dirty socks. fucks your boot over for the life of em.

BUT

dirty socks > not skiing
