How to punish this guy?

a couple weeks ago i was trying to buy bud downtown, i ran into this fatass who said his friend down the street had really good deals. i followed him there, and (retarded, i know) fronted him 40 bucks because he appeared to be going right into his friend's apartment, and he gave me his resume as collateral. i knew, since it was just a hard copy, that this had little value to him but i somehow trusted him. anyways, he wasn't back in 30 seconds as promised, and i knocked on the door like 30 times. finally after like 10 minutes i gave up and left. apparently this dude makes his living doing this, and he just escapes out the back door of the apartment building. anyways, this gigantic guy is very easy to recognize, and i found him today taking money from underage girls claiming he was gonna buy them alcohol. i confronted him and displayed quite a bit of anger but could not get him to pay me the 40 bucks he had stolen. his posse acted up on me and then he left. i have a couple of friends who know about this guy and what he does, and luckily i know his name and where he's from because he was stupid enough to hand me his resume a couple weeks ago at the incident. is there any way i could fuck him over by reporting him to the cops as a thief and underage alcohol distributor (from only a witness standpoint) if i get some of my friends to attest to it? or is it impossible to prove and could it potentially backfire? this guy wont stop jipping kids unless i do it, but i need NS to approve of talking to the popo's. also if i see him again i could blackmail him with a 911 call, in front of his face to get my dollars back.
 
hes probably gonna tell them you were trying to buy weed when he jipped you if you tell on him... if that matters to you
 
best thing to do is suck it up and move on

i thought about that but there'd be no way for him to make a case for that. i'd have about 5 witnesses saying that's not true, he'd had none. he looks fucking sketchy and i don't, on top of the fact that he'd also get into more trouble for saying that.
 
no i'm not even bringing that up, i'm being a witness along with my friends who've seen him do this kind of thing to people. claim he distributes alcohol and marijuana to underage girls downtown. the only way i'd get my 40 back is to threaten to do this with my phone in front of his face (blackmail)
 
Consider your $40 lost, you can anonymously report him to the cops and Im sure they can set up some kind of sting so he'll go to jail and other kids wont get fucked. Thats if cops is the route you want..

since i know his full name and description and the little hicktown where he's from and what his job is (resume) i could give them pretty good stuff to work with

40 dollars is nothing. give it a rest. he will get what is coming to him. don't drive yourself crazy and waste your time over it, i'm sure you have better things to do. just take a step back and get on with your life. i've been ripped off in a similar manner for much more than 40 dollars and that is my advice.
 
accept that you were an idiot. your not gonna get your 40$ back, so just let it be. karma will get him eventually, if you tried to screw him over it would just inconvenience your life. nothing you do will get that 40$ back, take the loss and move on.

I admire that you are trying to take a non-violent approach to this, but why not just do it vigilante style?

I say you cover your face with a ski mask, ambush him, beat the shit out of him, tie him up, and leave him on the front steps of the police station. That's what Christian Bale would do.
 
word to that, i moved on after the incident but then i saw him today, i figure i'll let it go in terms of trying to get my dough back. but it sure would feel good to end his spree with a quick anonymous report. also i wasn't planning on looking for him, just if i see him again by chance.
 
Lol dude you fucked up. only thing to do if you want to do anything is beat his ass. Nothing else will stop him and if you care enough to make a thread about it be a man and stick his ass next time you see him. And hey if you dont get your money back at least youll feel better about it haha.
 
Do you have friends thy are big large and/or intimidating.. Because if you do there's many options to explore...

Dude...$40...seriously. You have two options. Let it go because $40 is totally not worth the hassle. Or, you (and your friends, if necessary) find the guy, beat his and leave it at that based on the principle of the thing.

My advice, leave it be. It is not worth your trouble and chances are, the guy will end up getting his in the long run.

Or, pee in his butt.
 
yeah man i mean it by principle. if i don't get my money back it doesn't matter, i just wanna get his ass in trouble for being this kind of criminal for a living. i would never tell any authority that he stole my money.

you have his resume right? find his house, tie a note to a brick and just write KARMA on it and throw the brick through the biggest window in his house. windows are expensive. as soon as he gets it replaced, repeat.
or if he lives somewhere secluded shoot them out with a pellet gun sniper style.
