Dude, its super easy to meet people at the hill. Here is some of the ice breakers I used at Blue Mountain.
Start with any of these lines:
-How is the riding today? (works in any situation)
-Great day to be in the park!
-Nice skis! (if you know something about his skis)
Then inquire if they are alone or willing to ride with you.
-You guys seem to send it, do you mind if I tag along? (if in a group)
-wanna ride a few laps? (if he is alone)
Its important to start right after you sit down. The longer the wait the more awkward it becomes.
