How to make a website?

Alright, basically I have nothing to do as I am recovering from my ACL surgery and this came across my mind...

The website would be for my photography, I have always admired http://www.danielronnback.com/ for it's organization and simplicity, and also because his photos are #art

No ".weeblys" or ".smugmugs"

What is the best online guide or video out there on how to make one?

I use Squarespace which was pretty nice, IMO, not sure if that's what you are looking for though.

Weebly and squarespace can both be good. You just need to be creative and actually spend some time getting it right. The biggest thing is just to subscribe and buy a domain name so you dont have the .weebly.com or the footer on the bottom.

If you know anything about photoshop (you should if you are photographer) you should use Adobe Fireworks to model your layout and graphics (the tools and functions are very similar, but for different purposes), and then Adobe Dreamweaver to code and manage links. This is a basic description of what the programs do...but you seem like you have alot of time of your hands so I would recommend getting familiar with how to use these programs. They are pretty next level when it comes to managing personal websites. The software is expensive from what I know however, which is the main drawback... good luck bro!

I mean yah, but there isnt really a point anymore. SS and Format are simple, compatible with all devices, easier to update, and basically the same price (cheaper if you factor hours it takes to code). Also for a few dollars more a month most sites will give you full custom HTML coding if thats your thing.
