How to get sponsored?

Get known. Start socializing in the park, enter comps, help out reps on demo days, bug the owner of the local ski shop. Make sure you're always there, always in the foreground.

Drop edits every month, get banger shots in them, do local comps and get on SkiBums. good luck so far!

peace holmes, good luck with that.

I went with knowing the right people at the right time...the more connects and contacts and stuff you have the better. Remember, it's not what the company can do for you, it's what you can do for the company.

^ You've pretty much been an active part of every single Line Afterbang/any Line ski thread on here man haha. (what you can do for the company)

Actually, that's not too bad, you've got a pretty nice bag of tricks. BUT, what people need to remember is, it doesn't matter how deep your bag of tricks is, if they all look sloppy and unclean they'll get you no where (not saying yours are messy, but you could definitely clean it up a lot, but you've got some nice grabs and pokes in there that help). Think about this, how many times have you seen a pro or sponsored rider do messy tricks just cause they're big tricks, on the other hand there's pros out there who DON'T have the biggest tricks, but EVERYTHING they do it super clean and styly (Hornbeck and Casabon are considered to be amazing skiers, but neither do dubs, and neither really do a lot or crazy dancing rail ticks with tons of swaps and spins).
Basically what I'm saying is, don't go out there and try and learn as many tricks as possible and think cause you can do such big tricks that you're automatically gonna get a hook up, work on cleaning up your tricks. I'll admit, I don't have a super deep bag of tricks, but I work on cleaning up every trick I do, and I don't really move on to a new trick until I'm happy with the last one I learned.

Go for a shop sponsorship first, they seem to be the simplest ones to get (usually with pretty good deals, too). The shop I went with didn't even ask for a vid....

A lot of the time it's not even completely about the skiing: grades, personality, and involvement in other activities play a big role, so definitely don't forget to include stuff like that in a resume. You're advertising space; the more appealing you are to their target demographic, the more likely they are to give you a deal.

Good luck. :D

exactly. and i thought your promo was actually really solid, a few more jump tricks would be nice but overall super solid

uh i would say charlie ager doesn't give a shit if people say his tricks are smooth and perfect he hucks may not look the greatest but its what he wants to do and he is more badass than anyone and him hucking shows hes pushing his limits in the bc and if getting a full seg in pbp movie isnt enough what is? end rant.

completely different type of skiing, any big mountain guy is allowed to messy it up a little bit cus it just isn't possible to do it completely clean...but park skiing, has to be clean or you don't have a shot.

On that same note, get out on the mountain more, you need more variety, you can tell you aren't a great skier just by how you ski through the park in your edit, so work on that too. Then just clean it up and you're solid. Maybe add a few different grabs, it was all mute, get a clean tail, nose, all that stuff ya know...

this is just my opinion coming from a recently turned 14 year old
i love your rail tricks u were getting techhhh
i also think you could add a few tricks to your air arsenal but maintaining style i only saw a few 5's and 1 7? but none the less sick solid grabs
very nice skiing in general but remember its not all about sponsorship
im going to drop an edit at the end of this season ( australian season ) and post it to you for comparison because i would like to think we are of similar ability
my threads u rip dude
and on the sponsorship part
just send in a vid and some pics and a reseme saying how u love it and will rep the company and love skiing also
but im not sponsored so don't have to take my advice so that just my opinion
cheers

Yo! I got sponsored spacecraft when i was up in killington vermont. all I did was call the man and he sent me all this free shit yo

Thanks you every body for your reply! , lol i am from quebec so my englisch is very bad ! sorry

Thanks again I will considerate all your reply ! dont know if I said it good XD

dude im 14 as well. all i did was enter a few comps, talk to people on the lifts, send in vids, and get sponsored by underground companies that noone knows about. then you will get noticed by other big ski companies

you look a little stiff. before sending soem edits in. i would try to loosen up a bit and not be so upright all the time. but your better then me on rails so cant talk much, just some advice

this is just my opinion, but i noticed on that last edit that you were throwin a lot of 4's and 6's out (which is sick) but on some of them if you just did a 2 or 4 out it would look a lot less effortless thus giving it more style. keep it up tho these edits are looking sick

not to hijack the thread but, how do you get sponsered for big mountain/ powder stuff, cuz i really want to start working on that kinda stuff and make edits and shit but if you cant do comps that often what can you do
