How to get out of a crevasse with a broken back - GNP

Crevasses are more an obstacle when mountaineering or alpine climbing, ice climbing is typically climbing vertical walls of ice such as water falls. Though it would be damn hard to escape a crevasse if you didnt have any ice climbing experience.

That's why the good lord invented ascenders. Gets a little tougher when you're climbing solo I'll admit...

well obviously its everybodys own decision, but that was the worst part of this story.

i know i live in a country where everything health-wise is paid by taxes, and i might be helping out people who deserve it less with my taxes, but its just different, especially for him and also for me.

i mean he now has to set up this fund and hope that some people will help him (he has good chances given his story). maybe he helped other people before and they can let him stand in the rain now.

so, dont want to start a healthcare debate. awesome story.

The amounts of sites that are set up in order to help people cover insane medical costs should be proof alone in how fucked it is to not have universal healthcare.

Ascenders would only really help if he had fallin in with a fixed rope hanging down from the top. But if there was a fixed rope he also couldve just used prusik loops if he didnt have ascenders.
